Positive: The veranda: everyone was so convivial. We were able to plan the rest of our week based on the recommendations of the staff and others guests. We heard so many stories of high school romances begun at Chautauqua that became life long marriages.

Negative: The breakfast was really disappointing. I have to presume that during the summer season you can have breakfast at a table, but we were balancing plastic plates on our knees in the lobby with a hundred other guests. It just made for a disappointing send off in an otherwise wonderful stay.

Positive: Beautiful view of the Lake - Awesome walkable location - transported back in time. Be aware the accommodations are very dated and not large but that is part of the charm.

Negative: Forced valet parking or parking lot 5 minute walk away when other parking was available. Very average at best continental breakfast. Should be cooked to order. Pastries were not fresh. very ordinary something you would find at a base level 2-3 star hotel. This location, atmosphere and price point deserves MUCH more.

Summary: Very nice romantic evening on the lake.

Positive: Location was great overlooking lake and the hotel has been restored keeping it victorian look and feel

Negative: Parking was 10 minute walk from the hotel and did not seem like a secure lot p;us it was uphill to go get the car next day

Summary: Our stay was excellent , the bar tender was a wealth of knowledge about the area

Positive: The outlook was nice and the staff were nice and helpful.

Negative: The many cobwebs around outside, the toilet being right behind the door and the bathroom was very small. There was a wedding on so we had to eat off our laps. Breakfast seating was minimal, with only paper cups and plastic plates and cutlery. Why can’t you use proper crockery and proper utensils. Didn’t enjoy the hotel. It was dirty and rundown.

Summary: Won’t be recommending.
