Summary: We stayed at this property for 30 days as a family of four with two young children. The Good: The place was clean and felt safe, and the neighborhood was great for families. The Bad: Upon our arrival, we were informed of a small-scale renovation, which left the apartment smelling like a construction site throughout our stay, with persistent paint fumes. Renovation activities were also ongoing on the floor below us. Unfortunately, this information was only disclosed to us on the day of arrival, leaving us no time to seek alternative accommodations. While the apartment initially appeared safe, upon closer inspection, we found exposed wiring in wall light switches, sharp-cut pipes in the washroom, a missing toilet paper holder, only the bracket remaining, holes in the washroom wall, and an unattached drain cover, which covered an old sharp drain cover. The host's responsiveness to our concerns was minimal. For instance, although the listing promised a fully furnished apartment and kitchen, the kitchen lacked basic cooking utensils such as a knife, and we were instructed to purchase these for our own safety. The provided cooking ware and utensils were minimal, old, broken, and incomplete, making cooking nearly impossible. Parking was consistently problematic, with frequent blockages, though this may be more indicative of broader issues in Athens rather than specific to the host. Summary: Host was super nice…quick and consistent communication. Only a few downsides…no dryer (hang clothes to dry), apartment is on 3rd floor, not 2nd (only stairs), 1 double bed and 2 singles (3/5 shared the double bed), and closest metro was a brisk 15-minute walk.

Summary: Communication with hosts was excellent and prompt. They were hospitable even to my dumb questions (because I did not take the time to read the handbook which would have answered all my questions). We had a rental car but just left it at the apartment for our time in athens. The metro was a quick and safe 8-10 minute walk. The main acropolis site was about 10 minute ride on the metro, without switching trains. It felt so quick we didn't even sit down. We walked home in the dark every night and it felt very safe. There were kids playing on the streets and playgrounds in the dark as well. There are multiple restaurants and coffee shops in the area. We hit up the little mini-mart shop on the corner of the block a couple times for sodas and ice cream, and some breakfast foods. They closed at 10pm so that was nice. We usually ate dinner near the historical sites before taking the metro back to the apt at night so I can't comment on good restaurants nearby. The apt had more hot water than we had in two of our other Greek VRBO reservations so that was nice. All 5 of us got hot showers. The master bed was also the most comfortable of all our stays in Greece. Though the living room area is already quite large it felt even more open with the large balcony windows which have metal doors that can close over them at night. The apartment is a few flights of stairs up so it would not be recommended for elderly folks or those with mobile physical disabilities. There is available laundry/washer, though we didn't partake because of the drying time for clothes in Greece in October. The wifi was a bit slow, so this would not be an ideal location if you had to get some work done fast or be on an important zoom call or something. Hints: If driving, leave for the airport 3-4 times ahead of what GPS tells you it will take. Crazy traffic. Also we pulled our rental van out of the parking space late at night and onto the street so as to not risk getting blocked in when we needed to get to the airport, Taking the metro to the airport would have been seriously faster than driving. (but the 5 of us with all our luggage would have taken an entire train car). We really enjoyed our stay. Thank You!

Summary: We very much enjoyed our stay at Kelly's Apartment. It was bright and lovely and in a quiet neighborhood. Kelly was very thoughtful and even had a snack waiting for us and drinks in the fridge. The bakery, close by, was a perfect spot to start our day.

Summary: This is a lovely flat in a quiet residential area close to the centre of Athens. Everything here seems to be brand new. Not only is it freshly decorated, but all the appliances are brand new too. The main living room is a large open space with a high ceiling, and our little one loved the freedom to run around and play. The kitchen area is easy to keep clean, with enough work surface for making meals. The two bedrooms are large, with plenty of storage space, and suitcases can be stowed under the beds. The internet is free and fast, and we had no problem streaming media to our iPads. Despite it being winter, we found that we didn't need to use the heating much, although there are heaters in both the bedrooms if you need them and an air conditioner/heater in the living room. We put the air conditioner on to blow warm air for a few hours in the morning and in the evening and found that was enough keep the place warm. The neighbourhood is full of all the stuff you need for day to day living. There's a fresh bakery at the end of the street, and a wide selection of coffee shops, bistros, cafes and little restaurants dotted around the neighbouring streets. There is a fresh fast food pizzeria just around the corner that provides good quality pasta and pizzas at amazingly low prices, and a couple of larger supermarkets within a 5 minute walk. An eight minute walk gets you to a metro station on either the red or the green line, and from there you are 10 minutes from the centre of Athens and the Acropolis. At the moment 9 Euros will get you a 5 day pass to use the metro as much as you like, and it is clean and modern and not too busy (compared to London). We have really enjoyed the last two weeks in the flat. Kelly has been very helpful and fast to respond to any enquiries. She went out of her way to book a taxi for us from the Airport to the flat when we realised, at the last minute, that our luggage and the baby we're going to make for an awkward journey. She also had nappies in the flat for us which was very generous and an unexpected surprise. We looked long and hard at similar flats in Athens before booking with Kelly, and we made the right decision. I'd recommend this flat to anyone, particularly if you're looking for a family friendly apartment without any noisy neighbours, and you want to just explore the city at your own pace. We wanted a quiet clean and homely place, and this is what Kelly offers. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we have.
