Positive: More of a restaurant/bar with rooms rather than a traditional hotel. Great location on the river in the old town, walkable to everything. Nice restaurant, modern rooms. Great breakfast included. Coffee station on each floor. Convenient public indoor car park across the road.
Negative: Rooms are quite small, felt tight for two people with luggage, as did the bathroom. AC seems to be locked at a minimum of 22c so was a bit warm at night, for me. Surrounding area gets very busy with tourists during the day, as does the entire old town, but is nice and quiet at night.
Summary: Great old town location.

Positive: Location was perfect with lovely views of the river and historic buildings. The room was small but very nice and we enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant.
Negative: We arrived hours early and early check in could not be accommodated, not even by 15 min, which was disappointing after a very long travel day.

Positive: The central location of this property was perfect for us to explore beautiful Annecy, come back and have a rest, and then go out and explore some more. The breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful. A short walk to and from the railway station was easy to navigate, even with heavy bags! Double glazing on the windows shut out the noise from outside when we needed it to.
Negative: It was pretty great all around, although a fridge in the room would have been great. I understand the environmental reasons for not having them, but sometimes we wanted to buy fresh goods like cheese and charcuterie meats from the market, but there was nowhere we could keep them!
Summary: A gorgeous, central place to stay, eat and celebrate a birthday!

Positive: Great location if you want to be in the center of action in old town. Even though there are a lot of people on the street below, I never heard any outside noise in my room. Some noise from the hallway when others came in but this did not last long. Clean.
Negative: The room is so small there is almost no room to unpack and store items. Although there is a shared kettle outside the room, there is no place to sit and drink a cup except for on the bed where you risk spilling. No full length mirror to get dressed, just a small mirror over the sink. Breakfast is not a buffet but is a la carte. It’s great if you like the items on the menu but not so great if you don’t.

Positive: The location was incredible (right on the water, at the end of the old village/canal area) and the staff were so lovely. The room was beautifully appointed and the windows had excellent sound proofing against the street noise outside. Breakfast was delicious! The attached photo is the view from our room.
Negative: Our only issue was that, around 10pm, our room started to smell like sewer gas. We closed the bathroom door and opened a window and that helped, but it was quite unpleasant. Unfortunately, this is common in many old buildings in Europe and we don't blame the hotel or management but it is something that can happen and can be unpleasant for those who are unaware.

Positive: Walking into DLA resembled arriving home. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast fresh, plentiful and delicious. Dinner was fabulous to say the least complemented by an array of exceptional wines. The highlight of the stay was the proprietors and staff. They really couldn’t do enough for us. We can only reciprocate by inviting each and every one of them to Australia.
Summary: We only need one word….Perfect!!
