Summary: I had the good fortune of staying at Hummingbird Farm for nearly a month and I couldn't have asked for a better place to call my temporary home. The house is charming and comfortable - equipped with everything you could need. The grounds are exceptionally beautiful and well-cared for. A swim at the tiny secluded beach across the way offers a perfect respite at the end of each day, and a great way to begin leisurely summer mornings. Rich was available, accessible and accommodating. I recently moved to the West Coast from New England and this lovely place is a perfect reminder of all the things there are to love about New England - slow pace, lush green surrounding, loons on the lake, hummingbirds (and hummingbird moths!) in the garden. I'm looking forward to another stay soon!

Summary: Rich was very easy to communicate with and provided very detailed information about the house and surrounding areas. We had everything we needed and knew where everything was. The gardens around the house are picturesque and the lake was within walking distance and beautiful! We thought we'd have better cell/internet service but didn't,( Due to our carrier.) However, not having the cell /internet was exactly what our family needed and it was a fabulous break from city life! Both my boys and my husband and I highly enjoyed our stay.

Summary: We loved this warm, inviting farmhouse, the beautiful gardens and the quiet peaceful atmosphere. The home had many amenities, which made our stay feel like we were at home. We enjoyed grilling out, a dip in the lake, and lazy time on the porch. We took a day trip to Portland, ME, which was only 2 hours away, where we were spoiled with some of the best restaurants on the East Coast (Eventide, Central Provisions). We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful get-away. Rich and Elodie, thanks for sharing your home and taking such good care of us! We'll be back!

Summary: Won the stay at a Foundation auction for the owners charity. Our first time to New Hampshire and we are so glad we finally made it! Getting to stay in a 200 year old home was like stepping back in history. The bedrooms were so cozy and we sat out on the deck with coffee every morning to see the sun come up over the great pines. Rich had written us a list of must see places and we did our best to get to each. Loved Peterborough, Sunapee and Tooky Mills pub in town. When our busy day ended we returned for a glass of wine in the gardens. The roses on the back stone wall were in bloom and we enjoyed the solitude. Our host was very attentive and we received a check up text daily to make sure we weren't without anything. So glad we won the trip and did some good at the same time. We'll be back for sure! Thanks Rich and Elodie for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful farm. Christian B

Summary: I visited this home with a few friends on a FRIGID winter weekend. It was a lovely, sunny, charming house just enough off the beaten path to be a secluded getaway, while still close enough to Boston to be a convenient trip. The house is very cozy, while still spacious enough for a group, and filled with character. You can tell it's a well-loved place. Rich was a very helpful host. We had a slight hot water snafu (frozen pipes... it WAS the coldest day of the year...), but he was quick with support and generous enough to refund part of our reservation fee as a result of the inconvenience. I'm sure it's a fabulous spot in the summertime with the lake across the street - but was also great in the winter to hole up and do a puzzle. Would love to visit again when the weather turns warmer! Thanks Rich!

Summary: My 5-year-old and I stayed here for mama-daughter getaway last weekend. The house was cozy and comfortable, and we had a great time running around and playing hide-and-seek in the backyard. We had an initial hiccup with getting the door unlocked, but Rich was very attentive and responsive throughout the weekend and wanted to make sure we were having a great time. Thanks so much for a great stay, Rich!

Summary: My family had a wonderful time staying at this rental. My husband, 1 daughter with her 13 y/o daughter, another daughter, her husband and baby all enjoyed our stay. Without TV, we all talked with each other and made up ghost stories about this place which made it fun. Beautiful scenary from every window. No microware made us be a little more creative than usual but it worked out fine. It took a few days before we figured out how to make lighting in house bright but that made even more realistic.

Summary: This house was a fantastic get-away for myself and family. Adjacent to a great lake/pond that afforded our family with hours and hours of swimming, tanning, fishing(bring your own gear) and exercising around. The home is charming, offered us enough room to get our own space if needed and has some great antiques that give it its own character. The kids loved the large grassy pasture behind the house and I'm not sure what magic has occurred, but the well water was an elixir for the skin and tasted as pure as I've experienced. To cap this all off, the owner Rich is extremely attentive, but careful to keep at arms length from his guests. He went to great lengths to ensure our visit would be and continued to be to our liking. He is more than a great owner, he is a great person If you can't tell, I recommend.
