500 m away from Lake "G" in Belconnen, 15 minutes drive from the city centre, this large, 4 bedroom suburban home provides best of both worlds - quiet, peaceful and close to the city buzz.
A 22 kW EV charger is available for guests.
The space
This is an original 1984 house with modern amenities.
We've installed a 10 Kw solar panels system, a 10 Kw battery, a 16 Kw Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ducted heating and cooling with 4 zones and new roof insulation.
Guests will sleep in one big master bedroom with en-suite and a king size bed, one other king size bedroom, one queen size bedroom and one room with two single beds.
The kitchen and the dining area overlook the back yard. There are also a large living room and a play room to the front of the home.
The living room Smart TV has Netflix for the guests.

Summary: Felt the property was a long way out of the city area and places of interest. Better fitting linen would have been appreciated. House was immaculately clean. Would have liked the two bathrooms to be more accessible. Nice quiet area.

Summary: We always provide an honest appraisal of properties in which we stay, with input from all of us. We stayed in this house for 1 week, there were 8 in our group, 5 adults, 3 children. Firstly the house is clean and spacious, the heating works well and we never ran out of hot water. The location is quiet, there is a garage which we didn't use as there is no internal access. The house is reasonably comfortable, some basic supplies were provided. The younger children enjoyed the 'toy room', keyless entry is a good idea. On the negative side, the furnishings, the kitchen and the bathrooms are really 'dated'. The beds are firm and not particularly comfortable. But by far the worst aspect for us was the kitchen, with such limited facilities we struggled to be able to feed 8 people for a whole week. There is no provision of even the simplest of equipment such as a rice cooker, an air fryer, vegetable steamer, or even a baking tray to use in the oven. Any or all of these would have made our life so much easier. The microwave is so small its useless, the oven takes forever to get warm, as does the stove. And if it can't be fried or boiled, sorry you don't eat because we only had pots and frypans available. Needless to say, we had to resort to takeaways some days which is not what we wanted to do. And last but not least, toilet paper on the table instead of tissues-really?? We've stayed in lots and lots of accommodation from cruise ships to penthouses, and that's a first for us. Not impressed.

Summary: We were looking for a place to stay near our daughter in Bruce and the amenities in Belconnen that had space for our bicycles, and this lovely house fit the bill perfectly. It was very comfortable, warm (thanks to the new central reverse-cycle system), clean and had all the space and facilites that we needed for our 1 week stay. The location was quiet and pleasant and suited us perfectly. Alex was a great host who responded to our questions almost immediately. Next time we come to Canberra to visit our daughter we're definitely staying here again!
