Positive: Beautiful setting and cabin .Signs to access difficult to find and access road needs upgrading but well worth it when you finally arrive. A few issues with maintenance reported and Manager very apologetic and arranged repair. Loved scenery and spa and close to town.
Summary: Fantastic scenery and Cabin would have been perfect apart from above issues

Negative: Bathroom not particularly clean, took away from some of the other really nice things. Button to touch toilet did not return properly. Slight smell in the kitchen, couldnโ€™t find it though.

Positive: Lovely spacious apartment. The kitchen was large with virtually everything you could want. There was a good size fridge freezer too. The communal decking area was a great space to relax and we also had our own private decking area on the other side of the apartment. We didn't use the pool, spa or sauna but they all looked very nice. The bed is one of the most comfortable we have slept in during our 10 week trip and we had a great night's sleep both nights. The curtains are proper black out curtains, there was no light coming in before we opened them. The grounds are superb, it was lovely and quiet and felt very safe. There was a bit of noise from the neighbouring room but not too bad. We wouldn't hesitate to come back if we are ever back in New Zealand.

Positive: Check in was excellent. We were shown where all the facilities were, including the BBQ area should we wish to cook our dinner. The location is so close to Kerikeri but far enough away from the main road that you felt you were in a sanctuary. As this was a last-minute decision, we didn't make use of the spa or pool, but on our next visit we will be sure to bring our swimming attire! The room was so clean and presented beautifully, together with the bonus of our own patio facing the bush, where we enjoyed our dinner before retiring into the most comfortable bed and enjoying a wonderful night of slumber. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough, definitely a hidden gem of which I am extremely happy to have found. We are looking forward to our next stay!!
Negative: There was NOTHING that we did not like about our stay.

Positive: I love staying at the Avalon. Friendly host, nice rooms, very quiet as down a long driveway
Negative: Nothing. Be aware though of long driveway if you are travelling without a vehicle

Positive: I loved the location, the gorgeous gardens, lake with ducks. It was so green and secluded, peaceful and private. The cottage was perfect. Everything you would need. Beautifully presented. I loved it. Spa and sauna available to use.

Negative: There's only 1 shower room/toilet close to the swimming pool. The other shower room is for the sauna.
