Positive: What an amazing place for families: so many activities. Andrejs gave us lots of recommendations, including kayaking through the national park and my kids (aged 9 and 12) especially loved the local Tarzans Amusement park and Cesis castle. The house is located next to a small zoo and it was really fun to walk through the park after hours. Andrejs also gave us the name of a bike rental company but we ran out to time. The apartment is very spacious and we loved the sauna and then (a few brave souls) jumped into the pond afterwards. The house is very peaceful (forest all around) and Andrejs is the perfect host; exceptionally accommodating of our numerous requests and questions! We'd had a very busy vacation so it was nice to slow down for a few days and relax; We'd love to visit again.

Negative: Andrejs lives in a lower unit of the house; we typically rent entire vacation houses because we worry about the kids being loud but I don't think it was a problem and the yard was enormous so there was a ton of room to run around outside.

Positive: Excellent location, right in the middle of the national park, exploratory paths just few meters away. Very cosy house unusually decorated with taxidermied animals and birds. It has almost everything you need, lots of space, chimney, Russian banya (sauna) outside, grill. As it was New Year's time, the main room had Christmas tree with lights and stuff and we did enjoy the overall mood. The house is exceptionally clean. Very friendly host. We definitely enjoyed our stay and I would totally recommend the place for the country side getaway.

Negative: The kitchen was a bit smaller we expected (the cooking area) and we missed few things on arrival, like paper towels and tea (coffee was there, though). Also, in one of the rooms there's a floor beam that one of our family members didn't notice at first and knocked against that, not too hard, but it's worth to pay more attention to that on a checkin.
