Positive: The friendliest family! The setting near the jungle with lots of birds. The garden that the owner took very good care of . The beautiful design of the interior as well as outside. To eat nice breakfast served by smiling family members. Helping out with everything you needed. Mostly recommended

Positive: Friendly/helpful/communicative host, lovely/large cottage with nice ambiance/decoration. Up-and-coming property with nice foliage. Close proximity to the beach and town. Area felt safe, there is a temple and police station nearby. I recommend nearby Yatra Restaurant for beer, food, and sunset, plus Sama Retreats for professional ayurvedic massages and a quiet afternoon at the pool ($15USD only!).
Negative: Construction occurring on the property (owners are building a restaurant and pool), it was not too bothersome, though communication about this prior to arrival would have been nice. Neighbors burn fires, and this happened twice while I was there, once flooding my cottage with smoke. The host quickly extinguished the neighbor's fire. Payment in cash was required, advanced notice of this would also be helpful.
Summary: Comfortable, cozy stay near the beach, and good value for your money.

Positive: The room was cute and cozy, like a rustic cottage set off the main road with tranquil gardens. Lots of nature around, the kids found a giant snail which they named 'Bruce'. The room is very quiet, no traffic noise. Only the sounds of the ocean, which was lovely to listen to at night. We would recommend dinner from the host, it was very tasty.
Negative: As the room was quite rustic, there were quite a few bugs inside, including 2 large spiders (about 7-8cm). The beach by the room is too rough to swim, but still lovely for the kids to play on and watch the sunset.
Summary: We enjoyed our stay at Baker's Cottage and hope to come back one day!

Positive: We started our holidays in Sri Lanka at Baker's Cottage. From the very first moment, the family welcomed us warmly and took wonderful care of us. Every day started with an amazing breakfast, each morning featuring a new local specialty, accompanied by fresh fruits and tea. In the evenings, we could let them know if we wished to eat at the cottage. After being served an incredibly delicious Kottu on our very first evening, we decided to enjoy most of our dinners there. Every meal was absolutely delicious and prepared with so much love. The cottage offers all the amenities one could need, a beautiful garden, and is located just a few minutes from the beach. The beach itself is stunning and almost untouched, with hardly any tourists around. It was a perfect start to our Sri Lanka adventure, and we owe this to Kasun and his wonderful family.

Positive: The house is just amazing. It is stylish & super super clean. Everything looks amazing I just loved to come back home anytime. Also they figured out how to do a good indirect light (which is not always like that in Sri Lanka 😁) The family is the best I felt so comfortable. They helped me with every thing the mom is an amazing cook I had her kotthu 3 nights in a row. The dad is helping with driving so you willl really feel welcome. What a beautiful stay, thank you for everything.
