Positive: In all fairness, everything got sorted eventually, but not without worries. Booking was easy, clear instructions received by email and WhatsApp in Spanish (I used a translator and all was fine). Check in is super easy, key is left in a key box. The room is very small, but adequate for two. It would be perfect without the huge additional bed (have no idea how 3 people would cope in the little space). We appreciated the table and chairs (though understand that in the summer those would be on the balcony, leaving more space). There is a fridge, a hob and the right amount of cutlery and crockery. The fridge gets stocked with cheese, ham, butter, jam, chopped tomatoes, olive oil, milk and juice daily and there is a coffee machine with pods. The hotel itself is attractive, nicely done. It's undoubtedly perfect for events, as advertised. It's tucked away in a small mountain village, c. 25 min drive from Velez-Malaga. Note that there are no restaurants in the village, only a daytime eatery and maybe a shop (we never found it). Certainly absolutely nothing in the evenings and on Sunday. Don't believe Google for facilities.

Negative: The first day the internet didn't work, I had to hook the laptop to my phone data, fortunately, it was adequate. There was nothing the owners could do, and later the connection appeared. The bread delivery is rather sketchy... On Sunday we got it around 10.10 (instead of 9.30) and on Monday we got it around 9.10 (instead of 8.30), so plan your day accordingly, or buy bread ahead of time. There was a misunderstanding about when the fridge gets restocked, we were told repeatedly that it will be mid-morning the next day, by which time we were leaving, causing issues as there are no shops in the village on Sunday and we had no provisions, but fortunately, the cleaning lady turned up the same day and restocked for us. Despite the key opening doors to all communal areas, my husband got rudely told off for walking around to stretch his legs and nearly got his key taken away from him. As above, eventually everything got sorted, but there was an amount of worry and lengthy double-language conversations going on every step of the way, the stress we didn't need on a weekend away.

Summary: A lovely abode in a hideaway village - be prepared for the remote location

Positive: Very nice location and the rooms. There is a small kitchen area with a fridge in a room, minibar room prices are perfectly acceptable too, with a small mark up over shop ones, so nobody should feel like paying over the odds. Depending on the expectation the breakfast could be marked as good or not so good. Nice fresh bread delivered to main door each morning. Great views in a tranquil location.

Negative: Breakfast selection was fairly limited. Although this wasn't a problem for us, the breakfast choice and amount of bread might be too little for some, although I am sure the owners would be helpful and some kind of arrangements could be made.

Summary: Pleasant stay in family run hotel.
