Positive: Absolutely wonderful place. The location is excellent, staff is extremely friendly and helpful, helped us with lots of recommendations and also with personal requests too as we were celebrating our anniversary together. The room also had its own plug adapters so we didn't have to bring any with us! The room also included a powerful hairdryer, iron steamer for clothes and detergents for the washing machine. We also had plenty of fluffy towels and some bathrobes from the property. Keep in mind though that there aren't slippers! Lots of restaurants nearby and also very close to interesting markets such as oriental stores where you can get different asian snacks or seasonings/foods. The pool on the rooftop was the cherry on top, almost every evening after we'd come back from adventuring around Malta, we'd jump right into it and relax. We had it heated every day of our stay, no extra charge, and it was excellent! Keep in mind though that the massage bubbles stop functioning everyday at around 22:00 o'clock and the lights of the pool turn off by themselves at around 01:00 AM. Overall amazing stay at Barcaluna, I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Negative: - expect to have the church bell ring a few times a day - the house echoes voices clearly from outside especially when people are right near the door and we can hear them so clear as if they're right next to us speaking in our ears - Bed is somewhat comfortable, but it's smaller compared to what we're used to and I eventually got a crick in the neck from sleeping weird in the bed with my partner. - mirrors are warped in the bedroom, making us look way different than how we actually look in real life -lack of full body mirror for days when you want to go out and have a look at your whole fit. The only mirrors are: 2 in the bedroom which are warped and end somewhere at the half of your body and the bathroom one which ends somewhere at the neck. - warm water in the shower is lasting approximately for one person to fully shower, the next person who will want to shower right after will most likely have to wait 20 or so mins for the water to warm up again enough to take a new shower.

Positive: This apartment is just fabulous, especially the roof terrace with the heated pool where we spent a lot of time! The apartment is modern, clean and comfortable and the hosts, Alison and Joseph very helpful and responsive. Marsascala is a great place if you want to be away from the tourist traps with a good selection of restaurants. We used Bolt to get around, including to Valetta and Marsaxlokk and found them very reliable and quick. Highly recommend this fab apartment, although beware of church bells ringing from 6.30am!

Good value for money - myself and two friends enjoyed a girls trip together and would highly recommend booking here if you’re planning to visit Malta. Positive: Fantastic location with bus route 2 mins walk from the doorstep making it very easy to day trip to Valletta, Mdina, and onward to Gozo by ferry. This is such a beautiful apartment, clean and well equipped. Pool is just perfect for cooling down with a lovely sun downer overlooking the picturesque harbour and right beside the church - check out the mass times, the service is recommended. Lovely morning walks along the bay swimming in clear blue waters. Absolutely faultless - Alison and Jo are perfect hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. An unforgettable first trip. Positive: The apartment itself was beautiful it comes with a pool and amazing view and an brilliantly refurbished house. Genuinely every facility within the apartment was gorgeous!! It comes equiped with ac, WiFi , a tv, an equipped kitchen with cutlery and/pots and seasoning. However what made our stay the most enjoyable was how genuinely kind the hosts were. They offered to drive us to and from the airport and were there whenever we needed help or assistance with anything- they are life savers!! We had a power outage on our fourth day, however, they had come and flipped the breaker on and even stayed to double check everything was working (keeping in mind this was at around 10 pm/11 pm) and there were no issues and then proceeded to let us know we could call them regardless of time if it happened again! On top of this when we had arrives to the airport one of the hosts and his son explained different areas to visit and recommended beaches and food spots and even told us about the tallinja app and what kind of bus card we should buy if we needed any. In marsakala there is so many nice restaurants that are extremely affordable like Angelina’s who have an amazing seafood risotto! And the convenience stores in the area are extremely affordable and are open till late. The area is a small village however there is so much to do and the people and are lovely! I would definitely recommend staying at Barcaluna if you come Malta it is worth the money!!! We definitely will be coming again <3
