Enter Barefoot Manor and be prepared to relax!
This 2 storey family holiday home sits right on the beach, with a sun-drenched conservatory overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean and the sandy beach just outside the gate. On the horizon you may be able to spot Motiti, Plate, Whale and the puffing White Islands.
If the weather isn’t great, the lounge boasts an electric fire, lots of books, DVD’s and Freeview. Downstairs there is a family room where you can challenge the family to a game of pool or table tennis!
If its boating, surfing, kayaking or fishing you’re into – then this is the perfect spot! The flat section has plenty of space to park the boat, with a boat ramp into the estuary about a km up the road. Just talk to the locals about crossing the Bar!
At the far end of the beach is our Surf Club with patrols in place over summer. For safe swimming, the estuary is perfect for the littlies.
Right across the road is the ‘Local’ The Hippy Pipi Bar and Cafe where you can enjoy a hearty meal and a drink, or buy takeaways at the dairy to take ‘home’.
Centrally located, it’s just a 15 min drive to Te Puke (past the golf club), 30 mins to Mt. Maunganui and Tauranga (toll road), or 40 mins to Rotorua and Whakatane - all along excellent roads. If you need to refuel the boat, a BP is only 5 minutes away.
Check in time is 3pm and checkout time is 10am.

Summary: The bach was very much as described on the listing and as per photos. Just as some previous comments, the interior of the bach can do with a little love. It has everything that you need but it can certainly do with a new kitchen, I dont think this has changed since the 70s. The location is perfect though, 30 seconds from the beach and the ocean was safe for swimming and boogie boarding. We had a lot of fun in the water. On the rainy day we very much enjoyed the games room playing pool and table tennis. It was a great stay and communications with the rental agency were good.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay here the home was very accommodating to our needs absolutely loved the time spent around the pool table loved it here and would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful stay with a view that is to die for

Summary: There was lots to like about this property. Dealing with the Property Manager was a pleasure - she was very responsive and helpful when we had an issue with an old heater that would not turn off. The location, beach front, was wonderful. I could just not get enough of the view!! The kids enjoyed the pool table / table tennis table though the description had not made clear that it was the same table - so only one at time. However the fixtures are a bit rundown. We were there for my husband's 50th birthday and it would not have surprised me if the bed downstairs was older than him! However the furniture in the living and dining area was comfy and fine. Kitchen was reasonably well kitted-out except for not having a proper oven. Everything was basically clean though we had to wash kitchen items before use - everything seemed a bit dusty though understandably as it was just after Covid so probably not used for a while. If you are not fussy about your bed I would definitely recommend this bach for a long weekend or week hanging out at the beach.

Summary: Restful holiday. Very dated decor but excellent location. No proper oven, just stovetop elements. Enjoyed the lovely conservatory for meals over looking the ocean. bbq worked and was great. Overall great house and enjoyable.
