Welcome to ‘Barranco’ (named after a charming high bank neighborhood in Lima, Peru)! This contemporary waterfront home, high on the south west facing bank, is just a stone throw from South Whidbey State Park and situated on one of the most magical and secluded spots on Whidbey Island. With captivating panoramic views of the Sound and Olympic mountains and a private stairway (approx. 100 steps; a 3-4 minute moderate to steep hike path/stairs to 4+ miles of sandy walking beach, this home provides an ideal getaway for families and groups seeking beauty, solitude, inspiration and fun. Enjoy stunning sunsets, campfires, constructing driftwood forts, salmon fishing, and hikes through the nearby State Park old-growth forest. The home features an entertainment deck with gas fire pit to sit, lounge, entertain or enjoy a good book while keeping an eye on the snow topped Olympic Mountains, shipping lanes and wildlife (Eagles, Whales, Seals). The property also features a Chef’s Kitchen, Open Concept Living Room with Gas Fireplace, a Hot Tub and a separate detached unit with a large recreational game room (Pool Table, Foosball, Ping Pong, Shuffleboard, Air Hockey, Pop A Shot Basketball, Children’s Corner) and guest loft/apartment.

Reviewer Comments: This house was perfect for a large family, a few small families or a large friend group. It has everything you could want regardless of weather...a nice big deck, access to the beach, hot tub and game room. Door handle is tricky and you have to light the grill and fire pit by hand, but other than those quirks this was a great experience.

Reviewer Comments: A WONDERFUL house and view to spend two days planning and getting to know each other in a beautiful, relaxing setting that housed our whole crew. Everyone loved it, and it really felt like a RETREAT! On our last evening a pod of orcas went by, putting our Whale Sighting Network Staff into an excited flurry of action to share the whale report, so fun to see them in action! This was the perfect spot for us to gather and plan the future of our Nonprofit, and get to know each other better.

Summary: Private place to ourselves with plenty of beds and seating space. Easy check in, key used to lock/unlock, gorgeous view of the Sound with sunsets on clear days. Hot tub was delightful, gas fire pits worked great, and parking fit 3-4 cars but no more.

Summary: This is a lovely family home with all the necessary comforts in a stunning location. Beach access is for able bodied folks only, but once you get down there, it’s a very clean and private stretch of sand. The game room was a very big plus as well.
