Welcome to our piece of paradise, featuring a large eat in kitchen, hot tub, a 1,000 square foot game room and huge windows to take in all that nature has to offer. Situated on its own private and secluded lot is this 5 Bedroom, 4-1/2 bath luxurious cabin. Happy Hours is the ideal place for a romantic getaway, family or business gathering and events. Relax on the large back deck, soak in the hot tub downstairs and enjoy the most beautiful sunsets on the entire lake.
This grand log cabin has tons of indoor and outdoor space and is set up to comfortably accommodate multiple families (Sleeps 14). There are five (5) total bedrooms ( two master suites, one master bedroom and two more bedrooms with bunk beds). One of the master suites is situated on the top floor (amazing views) with its own beautifully appointed full bath. There are two additional bedrooms on the top floor (one with twin over twin bunk bed and the other with a full bed and an additional twin over twin bunk). The main floor offers another master suite with another very nice bathroom that has ceramic tile throughout. The fifth bedroom is situated on the bottom floor with an adjacent bathroom.
The main floor boasts a spacious, well-appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, bar seating and anything you would need to prepare a gourmet meal. There is plenty of seating for a large family to enjoy a meal together. The kitchen adjoins the large living room which features gigantic windows overlooking the lake and trees. The living area has a 55" flat screen TV and fireplace. Step outside the sliding doors and take in the picturesque views from the expansive deck or fire up the gas grill and prepare the days catch from the lake. Relax and enjoy your beverage of choice with only the sounds of nature around you.
After dinner, check out the 1,000 square foot game room featuring a pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, cornhole boards, and flat screen TV. Take a stroll out the game room door to enjoy a few S'mores over the outdoor firepit (we provide wood), or hop in the hot tub under the deck and enjoy the peace and quiet as the woods surround you. On the top floor, the views are amazing! The loft area is set up for movie watching, gaming, and viewing.
The house is equipped with high speed fiber optic internet and WiFi throughout. There are flat screen smart tv's in each bedroom with cable TV on some of those TV's. All TV's allow you to access Netflix, Roku, Hulu, and HBO GO using your own account. There is also a DVD player with a number of DVD's to choose from. In addition, we provide a number of games and toys for kids.
**Please note that although the house is located directly on the lake, Barren River Lake cabins are somewhat high up. We would not consider it a "gentle slope" down to the water. It is steep**
** Happy hours is located on the lake and is surrounded by trees. So, take all the same precautionary measures regarding wildlife that you would take at any other lake or wooded area**
The house is a short drive from all the following locations:
1. Scottsville, KY - Dining, Groceries, Dollar Store (5 mins away), Downtown Area
2. Glasgow, KY - Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Dining, Shopping, Fun Park
3.. Mammoth Cave - 30 minutes
4.. Bowling Green – 30 minutes - Beech Bend Park, Corvette Museum, Dining, Shopping
5. Nashville – 1-1/2 hours - Music City, Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators, Nightlife
6. Louisville – 2 hours - Bourbon Trail, Louisville Slugger Museum, Churchill Downs
7. Indianapolis – 3-1/2 hours - Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis Colts
There are a number of local attractions nearby. Bailey’s Point is about a mile down the street, giving you easy access to a boat launch, campground, playground and picnic area. Enjoy the public beach or rent a jet ski or boat at Barren River State Park and Marina, just 10 minutes away. Don’t forget your golf clubs! A challenging 18 hole course is situated in the beautiful rolling hills near the park. Tourists attractions like Mammoth Cave, the Corvette Museum and Beech Bend Park are only a 30 minute trip from the cabin.
Recent Changes
- Under new ownership as of October 2nd, 2020
- We provide two (2) adult sized life jackets for use with the kayaks.
- The outdoor propane fireplace on the back deck is not operational due to our insurance not allowing it, but enjoy the indoor electric log set and the outdoor firepit with wood provided.
- We removed the hot tub on the upper deck and re-decked over it, providing more deck space. The new hot tub now sits under the main deck, on a concrete patio.
- All of the carpet on the lower and 3rd level has been removed and replaced with hardwood/luxury vinyl plank..
