This great kiwiana bach is on the only street at Blachead Beach, 1 of 7 beach front bachs. From the deck enjoy uninterrupted views of the beach. Just step of the deck, walk onto the large front lawn, out through the sand dunes and onto the beach. A gorgeous sweeping beach which includes the Te Angiangi Marine reserve and shoal bay is only a 20 minute stroll up the beach. Blackhead beach offers diving, fishing and surfing with a great right hand point break, that works well on a south easterly swell.
The bach is set up for the classic Kiwi beach holiday. There is a wing with 3 bedrooms and a toilet/laundry that open up onto the deck area plus inside the bach is 2 more bedrooms, a shower and seperate toilet and backdoor/storage area. The open plan living space has a large dining table and a comfy sitting area and a kitchen with a view to die for. The living area also opens up onto the deck, making the house an L shape that all leads out onto a very large deck space. The back area of the bach has a concrete paved area & Pergola, with a comfy seating area & outdoor dinning table, perfect for catching the lovely evening sun. The front lawn area is a fabulous large flat space to play family cricket, badminton or whatever you enjoy!
Blackhead itself is a very safe beach and street, with children playing happily, riding their bikes, scooter etc and hanging out in the sand dunes (visible from the bach deck!)
Just down the country gravel road (25km) is Porangahau village which boasts a country pub with great food, a local diary for basic supplies and also a good hang out for the sports person with a river to water ski on, a golf course and public tennis courts.

Summary: We loved our stay! Good options for seating for a large family group. 2 toilets was great. The favourite spot was the seating area at the back in the sunshine. There are a good amount of bedrooms. The only negative was the amount of flies. Take some flyspray we couldn’t find any in the house. And it is a kiwi batch so we found the people before hadn’t washed the dishes very well. But overall it’s a fantastic spot and great place to chill by the beach.

Summary: Lovely house in a brilliant location. Had all the necessaries in the kitchen (could do with a bread knife though!), and had two fridges and a freezer so plenty of space for food. Only one indoor shower (plus one outside which was good for showering after a day at the beach) so thought we’d struggle but even though there were 8 of us, we managed fine. Deck was a great spot to chill. Cell phone coverage but no wifi so kids had to hotspot to watch a movie but nice to be forced off the gadgets. Would happily book again

Summary: This is the second time we have stayed as a family, and we have had the most amazing time! The location is amazing and we absolutely love the classic kiwi batch vibe at the house. Communication with the owns was so easy. We cannot fault this place and will hopefully be back again next year.

Summary: Our family got together for a long overdue holiday, the bach was perfect for 9 adults, enough chairs, huge tables, 2 fridges, freezer and rooms for everyone, walks along the beautiful beach, watching the sunrise, we couldnt have wished for anything more and have already started planning a spring getaway.
