A few minutes from the beach by car but also reachable on foot. Independent entrance. Ideal for lovers of trekking or cycling for the variety of excursions with medium-low difficulty routes.
Two terraces with a beautiful view of the Gulf of Policastro, allows a relaxing 360 ° view.
Near Vibonati, charming medieval village of southern Italy practically intact where you can find characteristic restaurants to taste the typical local cuisine. Also for lovers of painting or photography excellent possibilities to wander in the myriad of alleys and ancient stone doors that are located inside. All framed by a lush green.
The attic is in a central position in relation to Maratea, Acquafredda, Sapri, Scario and Palinuro, known tourist resorts of the Gulf of Policastro.
It is composed of a large living room -level, equipped cooking area, dining area, modern bathroom with shower, room used as a dressing room or for the accommodation of a possible single bed. Summary: The location is about 20 km from Maratea and about 1 km or so above the beach and perhaps 600 meters to an old village, The photo of the water is NOT from the suite, which looks out over backwards and an a soccer field with the sea in the distance. I'm not sure if this is listed as a B&B, but our host left us a home-made cake and a bottle of nice juice; we were there for 3 nights. We used this as a base to see the park(s) and all kinds of great drives and sights within about 30km-40km. Pros: the host was very kind and sweet, There is a fridge and an oven and two rooms, a bath, and two small balconies. It's a nice walk or a short drive to a lovely medieval town, and away from the crowds at the beach. Cons: the ceiling is low in parts (it is an attic), and without air-conditioning. There is a floor-fan, but without cross-ventilation it was a bit stuffy at times. This is a great location if you have a car, but a challenge if you do not.

Summary: Gisy was at all times very helpful and had organized delicious food in the fridge & wine & limoncello. She also had very good recommendation about how to enjoy the area. Although this is not one of the most glamorous parts of the magnificent Cilento Coast it gave a true feeling of the local people of the area. And Scario, that beautiful little port, was so close by. Recommended Trish Richardson & Andy Lloyd-James Sydney Australia.

Summary: A delightful apartment in the top floor of a detatched private residence with a wonderful view down to the sea about 1km away. Our host Giselle is the most friendly and helpful lady who made us so welcome even providing some essentials for the fridge and some home made treats to greet us. We went in late May and the tourist season had not started so it was very relaxing and easy to get around. A car is essential to enjoy the beautiful coast and the mountains in the National Park which is a delight especially in Spring when the wild flowers are fabulous. The beaches locally are nice and mainly stony but there are sandy ones to be found. Giselle will help on this. Vibonati is a village 10 mins walk up the hill and there are a couple of nice restaurants. A very relaxing and enjoyable break in an area that is not too commercialised and very friendly.

Summary: We loved our stay at Casa Di Gisy and our only regret is that we could not stay longer. The house is beautiful and the owner, Cara (?) the most warm, welcoming and inviting host ever. There was beautiful food (fruit, drinks, coffee and cakes) on our arrival and Cara was very helpful with local information. We had a little trouble finding the place but Cara was easily contactable and she guided us nicely. We actually drove past the place a couple of times so a little sign on the gate would have helped us. I wish I could give this property 6 stars. We really enjoyed the town of Vibonati too. An old world charmer. We had an extremely enjoyable few hours wandering this unique hillside town and had a fine meal at one of the local ristorantes. The people were so friendly. We would visit this area again in an instant and staying at Casa di Gisy again would be wonderful.

Summary: Oranges, lemons, orange muffins and jam, and limoncello are set out on the table. All made, by Gisela, using the fruit from her garden. I'd read about 'una bella figura ' and sensed that Gisela's photo would be appropriate next to the definition of the phrase. The apartment has the same attention to style,quality,modernity and function that Gisela has. The private balcony overlooks some of the orange,lemon and olive trees on the property and beyond that the blue of sea and sky. Nearby Sapri has a beautiful beach and promenade with shops,bars,restaurants and gelato. The town of Vibonati is special. Handpainted ceramic tiles on walls depict local life and welcome visitors. A homeowner rushes out to tell us about the town being settled by Phoenicians more than 2000 years ago and, like so many places in Italy, the subsequent conquests and influences. But in no other place we've been were the layers of all those influences so visible. Incredibly charming and friendly. Small town but with good shops to buy essentials and ristorante Paisa offers locals and visitors delicious food with a great atmosphere of community. Gisela encouraged us to visit Maratea with the huge, marble statue of Christ the Redeemer atop the mountain overlooking the town and visible up and down the coast for miles. She also suggested the pretty,little seaside town of Scario just a 15 minute drive and then Paestum, only an hour away,on good roads. Paestum has impressive Greek temples;the most intact outside of Greece. Gisela, the town of Vibonati and the citrus coast will remain fondly in our memories a very long time. Summary: The Apparment is all in all very nice. It is absolutely clean, the interior is very functional as well as very nice, you really need nothing except your clothers. The landlady is a very kind person, very friendly and hearty. We got very good recommendations from her for nice beaches, restaurants, boat trips etc. The distance to the beach is, especially in summer, too far to walk. You need a car or at least a scooter or a bike. We will come back, it was one of the best holidays we ever made. Best regards Martin/Chrissi
