This is the perfect location for a family retreat (fur baby too), or a gathering location for a reunion complete with a RV parking setup.
The gorgeous view up on a hill overlooking a green river valley is enough all by itself, but there is also a cozy but roomy 3 bedroom cottage style home with a large deck, which usually has a cool breeze up on this hill. Perfect spot for morning coffee or for enjoying a drink in the evening with spectacular sunsets.
The deck in the back runs the entire length of the house complete with a propane grill. A well lit party area, with fire pit wood provided, allows for an enjoyable time under the stars while roasting some dogs over the flames and of course, you gotta
have s'mores.
The sock tank pool (8' across and 2' deep) not only adds country charm but a great place to cool off on a hot Texas summer day.
There is also a projection system to watch movies, etc. outside on a large screen. Outside games such as Jenga and bean bag toss (AKA: cornhole)
The 'party area' is complete with party lights to give a festive feel at night while viewing a movie outside.
If you need more sleeping facilities than can be provided in a 3 BR home, there is a RV space with hookups that is also available. If you are wanting to host a group for an outside gathering, let us know and we can provide tables, chairs, serving/warming trays, etc.
This 3 acre private setting feels like you're in the country on a quiet street, but you are right off hi-way 6 for a convenient straight shot to Waco, Silos and many things Magnolia
Very safe, quiet neighborhood of lovely homes. Completely fenced and secure.
Gate is keypad entry as well as entry to home. A lot of room for your children and dog to run outside.
We provide a coffee bar with a variety of coffees and teas to start your day, and bottled water with snacks upon arrival. All areas of the house are yours to use, including a fully stocked Laundry Room.
When you are not mesmerized by the views and want to watch some TV, there are two TV's- one in living room and the other in the Master. Both are connected to Fire Recast providing full range of local over the air channels and equipped with 'Firestick" allowing you to watch your Netflix, Prime, Hulu, subscriptions, etc. Want to watch a movie outside on the "Big Screen", you can do that too.
The "Old Mill", namesake of this town, is Chip and Jo's latest fixer-upper renovation used for Joanna's cooking shows Guided tours are available. The Old Mill and The Saw Mill, the fireplace mantel factory featured on Fixer Upper, are both located here in Valley Mills (1 mile away). And Magnolia Farms, the home of Chip and Joanna, is just 8 miles down Hwy 6. JDH Iron Designs where Jimmy Don creates his metal works featured in many of the Fixer-Upper shows is 6 miles the west
Clifton, known as the Norwegian Capitol of Texas, is only 11 miles north.
Like wine? The award winning Valley Mills vineyard and winery is just 1.4 miles and the Red Caboose winery is only 10 miles in Clifton.

Summary: What a wonderful vacation home! This place offers something for everyone. Fun for little kids, teens, and adults! Convenient access to area attractions and activities and far enough out of Waco for rural relief! We loved the scenic views and truly enjoyed the spectacular sunrises and soothing sunsets!! All this along with a symphony of birds singing. We hope to return on our next adventure in this area!

Summary: We had an amazing time at this beautiful home in Valley Mills. The kitchen was well-supplied, and we loved eating outside under the covered porch. Beds were extremely comfortable, and the living room was great for watching sports. We had everything we needed because of the thoughtfulness our hosts put into every detail, including great communication during our stay. The highlight was the gorgeous 3-acre property, with the best views in all of Texas. Do not pass up the opportunity to stay at this incredible place.

Summary: I don’t even know where to begin. We have been renting VRBO’s for about 15 years and this one is by far one of our favorites. The dogs favorite for sure!!! A perfect place for families of all ages to escape to, everything is well thought out as what you may need and the house is warm and cozy. Didn’t get a chance to use the s’mores provided but maybe next time.

Summary: We traveled from North Georgia to stay at this home in Valley Mills. The reason for our trip in the first place was we were going to see Metallica in Arlington. We’ve never done VRBO before, so this house was our first. It happened to be about 2 hours from our concert venue, but we all decided that was okay, because we thought the listing for the home looked like it might be worth it. And we were right. We spent 7 days here at the home. My wife and I (she’s 30, I’m 27), my mom (in her 60’s) and our 15 month old little girl all fit perfectly in this home. And our little dog too! The homeowners, Bob and Teresa, we’re both VERY accommodating, asking us about the baby and the dog, to make sure the house was set up properly before we arrived. The home was clean, tidy, and we felt right at home. The property was our favorite part though. The fenced in yard was perfect for our little dog. The sunsets were STUNNING! I didn’t hear a peep from the neighbors around us (if they were even there?). One of the “least appealing” things about our trip was the TX heat. Every day was 110 degrees. Not quite what we were used to in north GA. But that wasn’t an issue for this home. The AC unit kept up flawlessly. The little swimming pool is where we spent most of our time if we weren’t in the home. There were a good amount of fans provided on the back porch, so we spent a good amount of time there too. I am out of characters for this review, but have many more good things to say about our stay.

Summary: Great location. Huge fenced-in yard for our dogs to run around in. Amazing view off the back patio into the valley below. It is a must to go to Helberg Barbecue, the best food I had in the Waco area. Valley Brew coffee downtown is a nice place to start your day. Very friendly people in the Valley Mills area.

Summary: The house was very clean. All of the amenities listed were available. For our visit to the rural communities in Coryell, Bosque, and McClennan counties, the location worked well. The back deck which overlooks the valley was spectacular at sunset. We could see a small herd of deer each dusk. Well equipped kitchen. The property, although in a neighborhood, is very private.
