Summary: While the cabin itself was nice, there were some issues. Some cleanliness issues were brought to the attention of the owner and cleaning woman. She showed up at 10:30am our final day. We thought we had until 11 to leave. I have rented many vacation homes and this is the first that requires it's guests to wash and dry the towels and linens and make the beds. Hopefully the guest before you followed the rules. The biggest problem we had was that the listing did not disclose that the property is right by a military base. We kept hearing, what we could only imaging were fireworks the first night. I messaged the owner the next morning who told me about the base and that they only do drills during the day. That night we felt like we were in the middle of a war zone. The next morning we talked to some locals who told us July and August were the nosiest at the lake. Upon further investigation, we learned through the base Facebook page that the weekend we were at the rental, they would be testing 500 pound bombs! This happened at 1am! We were thankful for many reasons that weekend. One being that it was a moms getaway and we didn't have to worry about the bombs scaring our children. Another major thing we were thankful for was that the military veteran that was in our group does not suffer from PTSD.

Summary: We had a fantastic vacation with the family! We had 4 kids under 6 years of age, and five adults attend. The cottage was clean, spacious enough for everyone, and had a fantastic view of the water. With 19 acres, the cottage is very secluded and you cannot see any neighbours. Our cell phones did not receive reception (for either data or cell service), and we used this as an opportunity to really unplug. Cell phone reception picked up with short 2 minute drive up the road. The cottage really feels like a true cottage experience. Our interactions with the owner were more than pleasant, and any questions or concerns were addressed promptly. We would recommend this cottage highly.

Summary: A peaceful, unplugged experience. The house is situated in a beautiful wooded area along a quiet lake. We enjoyed the dock and rowboat for fishing. Easy drive into Gaylord for dining/shopping.

Summary: Very private cottage with an absolutely beautiful location. It truly was a getaway from it all, very peaceful. We were able to fully relax and hang out together. The kids had a fabulous time on the rowboat, we enjoyed the campfire, got to hear the loons, see some deer, and watch the stars. Overall, a most wonderful vacation!!!!

Summary: This was a great family vacation!! Lots of room for everyone!! Lots of privacy which was key for us. Beautiful getaway to decompress!!! There is no A/C and we had quite a hot spell while there--but seeing we were outside most of the time enjoying the swimming, fishing etc it really wasn't that big of a deal-it cooled off nicely at night so sleeping wasn't an issue. No TV/cable/satellite/internet which I thought might be an issue with some of the younger family members--but is was wonderful to disconnect!! I would recommend this place highly and do expect to be back in the future.
