This lovingly restored cottage is set on a quiet lane, within a small hamlet, the hamlet enjoys the peacefulness of the vendean countryside. The cottage has a large outdoor (heated May/June - Sept inc) Swimming Pool 5m x 10m – Set in an exquisite landscaped garden. The guests have exclusive use of the pool. Enjoy your barbequed evening meal at the side of the pool watching the sunset over the Vendee. There are a multitude of indoor board games (scrabble, Rumikub, draughts, cards etc) Outdoors there are rackets and balls, bowls, floats for the swimming pool etc Access to UK TV and Wi Fi. DVD player and English DVD’s are on hand - snuggle up in front of the Log Burner in the winter time.

Summary: This is a lovely gite with lovely owners. The gite is in a valley and is one of six in a quiet hamlet. The owners Joan & Sam are a lovely couple and even let you share there gorgeous dog Lexi. They are there for you with information & recommendations, but still unobtrusive if you don’t need them, Joan has thought of everything you could need, even down to pool toys.

Summary: I really don’t want to write a positive review because I’d like to keep the Gite a secret! However, I owe this to Joan and Sam for such a lovely holiday and for being the perfect hosts. The Gite is a home from home, lovely and clean and comfortable with everything you need. Nice and traditional too. The pool is lovely, warm and clean with lots of inflatables/toys. The Gite is in a peaceful area but close to lots of things to visit. Super sky at night, with the sound of crickets and owls too. Loved sitting out the front with a glass of wine. We miss you already! Thank you Joan, Sam and the lovely Lexie for a fantastic holiday. Sure we’ll be back. The Russell Family, Somerset, UK

Summary: Have just spent a fabulous 2 weeks with Joan Sam and of course Lexi. This fabulous property is a real home from home, with everything you need for an independent quiet self catering holiday. Everything was provided and was clean and very comfortable. A fabulous pool to use at any time of the day, set in lovely gardens. Joan and Sam were welcoming, warm and friendly and provided good advice on places to visit and local restaurants. The Paramy Thai Buffet is a must do. Ting the owner is a joy. Also do not miss Puy du Fou. Sensational. All in all a first class stay in wonderful countryside. If you enjoy walking then this is the place for you.

Summary: Beautiful and stylish cottage in wonderful surroundings, with everything you could possibly need, including vast information about the area. The owners were the perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There were plenty of places to visit and lovely restaurants to try nearby. We would definitely stay there again.

Summary: Third visit to this lovely rural cottage, hosts Joan and Sam are very welcoming and helpful. Heated pool lovely to relax in at the end of a busy day sightseeing or bike riding. Lovely quiet part of France, plenty of places to visit and enjoy the local culture and food.

Summary: From the minute we arrived at this beautiful gite, we were made to feel welcome by Sam,Joan and Lexi the Westie. The traditional cottage had a lovely and cosy to feel to it, was very well equipped and kept at a pleasant temperature even when it reached 35 degrees outside! It was the first time we had stayed in a cottage with our 2 young girls, normally opting for a more lively holiday, but we absolutely loved the place. The girls swam nearly all day every day and we were able to relax. We didn't venture too far (it was too hot!), but we did manage a day out at Puy du Fou (amazing medieval shows). We will treasure special memories of our week here and hope to return one day for a darts and bingo rematch! Tina, Rick, Georgia and Annie

Summary: This gite and pool are as close to heaven that you can get. Inside the gite is so clean, comfortable and immediately inviting. I loved the beams in the sitting room and upstairs and there are so many lovely touches in the gite which gives it such a lovely country cottage feel. Outside, we found the beautiful pool area very relaxing on the hotter days when we didn't feel like going too far away from the cottage. Although Sam and Joan live next door and the terrace is in their garden, we were made to feel very welcome to use it which we found an extra special touch. Of all the gites we have stayed in I don't think we have ever had better hosts than Sam and Joan, who felt more like good friends than hosts and we will miss both them and Lexi, the little Westie, who gave us the warm welcome that only dogs know how to do. I will miss her "speaking" to us from Sam and Joan's side of the garden. The Vendee is a beautiful area and if you are looking for a lovely, relaxing holiday, you will certainly find it here. The cottage has lots of ideas for eating out and places to visit. We loved the Chateau de Terre Neuve at Fontenay Le Comte, where the French guide made a very special effort to conduct our tour in English to avoid us having to use guide books. This made our visit all the more special and enjoyable. The tour takes about 30 minutes, but there is a very well appointed gift shop with reasonable prices and very friendly staff that you will enjoy looking round, and the grounds are beautiful to walk round too. Thank you Sam and Joan for a very special week that we will never forget. Love from the Saunders family. x
