This is our home away from home! It is so nice to get a break from the hustle and bustle and this home has been our Lake Haven for the past 10 years. Our large family loves coming here to boat, fish, and kayak! We love opening it up to other families who want the chance to get away too.
Maybe you're having a small family reunion or you just want a nice lake getaway with the kids. If you are looking for a party house, this isn't the place for you! If you are looking for a quiet place to get away with family or friends, this will go beyond your expectations!
200 ft of direct lake access. Sleeps 8 in bedrooms. Breathtaking sunset views. Fire pit. Grill. There is also a playground across the street. Downstairs has a pool table and poker table. Fun for the adults and kids!
Perfect place to stay for weddings or family get togethers. Fishing right from the shore. It is just a few blocks away from downtown Albert Lea if you want to get out for the night.

Summary: Great location for visiting both Iowa and Minnesota relatives. Gorgeous lake view and breathtaking sunsets. Spotless home, comfortable beds and kitchen was well equipped for our group of 5.

Summary: This home was more beautiful in person! So spacious! We came with our adult children and their spouses. Everyone had their own room and bathroom. Great entertaining spaces on each floor. The lake view was spectacular! The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The home had everything we needed. We hated to leave!!! Thank you for helping us make great memories!

Summary: We had a traveling baseball tournament in the area. We booked 3 different VRBOs for the team and families and this was by far the nicest. The master bedroom is huge with a walk-in shower and 8 shower-heads. Perfect for post game clean up. We talked to other teams that went the hotel route and no one was impressed with the options. The cost seems high at first in comparison, but was affordable when divided between 4 families. There was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the downtime between games. I highly recommend this property if you are in the area!

Summary: My siblings and I had a wonderful time reconnecting from our homes in Minnesota, Wisconsin, California, and Washington. Albert Lea is our ancestral home and the Lake Haven was the perfect setting for our gathering.

Summary: The pictures really don’t do this house and location justice. This house is beautiful and super spacious… perfect for a family vacation. They are in a great location and have all the toys you need. You can walk to Albert Lea’s downtown area and along the lake, which is beautiful. They have adult and kid kayaks, fishing poles, life jackets, yard games, and a lily pad. Perfect for the kids and adults. Montana was extremely kind and very easy to communicate with. We had a fantastic week and hope to be back.

Summary: Beautiful home - more than enough room for our family of 8! Would definitely stay again. Montana was very responsive when we had questions. We suggested a ladder for the dock and he said it was already ordered. Beautiful sunsets - sitting on the deck was so relaxing!

Summary: Overall our experience was good and we had a nice time as a family. Admittedly, I should have researched more and known that the area doesn’t have anything as far as boat rentals or fishing charters, so we ended up going about 40 miles south to a lake in Iowa for that. We did fish off the dock and caught a few bass, bluegill and catfish. We also took a day trip to the Mall of America which was fun. The town is cute but not much to do or nicer places to eat, but the house was pretty and large enough for our family, which was nice. I had a bit of trouble communicating with the owner but he did eventually respond (especially when we set the alarm off checking in, lol). The house was pretty clean, too, but the outdoor spaces were so overrun with cobwebs and spiders we couldn’t even use the chairs around the fireplace. :/ Also, I suggest checking the place out before bringing everything (like spices, cooking oils, butter, toilet paper, etc) because a lot got left behind by other renters which was awesome, but could be frustrating if you bought it all in advance only to find out you didn’t need to. Overall it was a nice family trip. Thanks!
