Happy Day on Hamlin is a charming 4 bedroom home with private frontage and dock on beautiful Hamlin Lake just north of Ludington, Michigan. Private deck overlooking the lake, spacious, with room to sleep 10! The ultimate property for your "Up North" Pure Michigan vacation! Fish or boat directly from the private dock, just a short drive to Lake Michigan and Ludington State Park, and just minutes from Downtown Ludington. You'll feel like you're a million miles away, while still being just a stones throw from everything you'll need and everything you'll want to do! Short day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and so much more!
* Special:
• Private dock with bench on the end for great sunsets and morning coffee! Boats can be tied on the dock.
• Steel sea wall to tie up kayaks, boats, paddle boards, etc
* Happy Day has a great location as it is just inside Indian Pete Bayou which offers great views of the lake yet offers protection from storms and waves as well as more enjoyable swimming and fishing from the dock. We have had trouble with the exact mapping location which is why I am making this note.
Upstairs:
Main floor has dining room with seating for 6, full kitchen (with extra table to accommodate more), upper patio with patio set and grill, 4 bedrooms (2 with queen beds, 1 w/ double and bunk bed, and 1 w/ 2 twin beds) and bathroom with 2 toilet areas and 1 shared tub/shower (these are jack and jill bathrooms separated by pocket doors.)
Kitchen:
• Sliding glass door right off kitchen that opens to deck (also has table and chairs); Great for morning coffee that looks out toward Hamlin Lake
Mid Level:
Mid level has living/entertainment room with couch, upholstered chairs, TV (roku), fireplace (for decoration only), table for games, games, books and a mini bar…we call this the “Great Room”. Walk out the two sliders onto an expansive deck overlooking Hamlin Lake with a patio table and chairs offering plenty of seating for outdoor eating, relaxing and sunset watching!
Lower Level:
This is the best place on a hot day!
Ping Pong table! Great for family tournaments!
The walk-out lower level, has a small sitting room perfect for watching sunsets or summer storms and a sliding glass door that leads out to a nice patio (round metal table with chairs) with views of the lake. The lower level also has an extra twin bed and a full bathroom 2 shower stalls (great for coming from the lake/beach) a bathroom, and full laundry facilities.
Outside:
• Private dock with bench on the end for great sunsets and morning coffee! Boats can be tied on the dock.
• Steel sea wall to tie up kayaks, boats, paddle boards, etc

Summary: This home is very clean, comfortable and spacious, in an excellent location. Home has a well equipped kitchen. Beds are comfortable with nice pillows and blankets. Good laundry facilities. Double showers and bathroom in the basement were extremely helpful. We kept our boat at the dock, which is on a nice and quiet part of the lake. Great for kayaking and paddleboarding. The yard is very nice and great for campfires. Parking is tight but workable. Owners were very accommodating and pleasant to work with. We had a very enjoyable stay and would love to rent again!

Summary: This home has a view of lovely Hamlin Lake. During our stay we saw a bald eagle. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Our host Bill responded quickly and openly to our questions and comments. Ludington State Park and shopping are an easy drive. And if you like fresh blueberries—u pick or ready picked—Couturier’s blueberry patch is nearby. The house is ready for some updates, which Bill has plans to address. We hope future guests will enjoy lake life at Happy Day.

Summary: General location was great with easy access to downtown Ludington, State Park, sunsets on the beach, and all the area has to offer. It's our favorite town to be in during summer. The home was clean, roomy, and bedrooms exactly as expected. The basement showers are not pictured in the profile, but are not as nice as the rest of the house (we wore our flip flops) and the other bathrooms only have pocket doors that do not latch closed. There was also something in the bottom two levels that triggered our allergies, restricting my mother to the main floor. We're glad it was cool during our week, since that level would have been warm without air conditioning. Also, the positioning of the home on the VRBO map appears to be directly on upper Hamlin Lake, when it is actually situated in the cove. That didn't make a difference since most of the shoreline isn't very swimmable. It made for good fishing off the dock though. All in all, it was a good vacation.

Summary: 2nd year at this vacation home on beautiful Hamlin lake. Boat rentals on the lake. Lots of room for teens to spread out..Ping Pong tournaments at the cottage. Mornings on the deck for the adults. We'll be back!!

Summary: A couple of recommendations if I may, a few clocks would be great, especially one in the master bedroom. Also, an outside light for the back of the property is really needed for safety purposes. I would consider a gate at the top of the stairs as well, again, for safety purposes. We loved our stay and the accommodations met our needs. Thank you so much for renting to us and especially allowing me to change our dates of stay due to bad weather predictions. P.S.
