Beautiful warm Maine cabin situated in Pleasant Point Nature Preserve with spectacular ocean views, private beach, great for families, on 4 acres of open fields and woods. Located on Stones Point Road.
Great location for walking and bike riding. Swim in the calm cove waters. Sit on the stone patio or out on the ledge looking out to the many beautiful historical Maine islands. Cabin sleeps 5 comfortably, 3 bedrooms, one bath, eat in kitchen, living room with fireplace, both rooms with great views of the ocean and woods, outside
shed with second refrigerator and washer and dryer and plenty of fire wood.
Cabin includes, Full kitchen, wood burning stove, linens, telephone, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dish washer dishes/utensils, TV, WIFI, books, games, BBQ grill, small deck and stone porch.
In the immediate area you can hike the trails in nearby conservation
preserves. Take an outing to Rockland , a growing art community with many
galleries , including the Farnsworth Art Museum and the Wyeth Art Center.
Or visit the close by village of Camden with its
many good restaurants and
nice boutiques. You are only an hour from Freeport
and an extraordinary
day of discount shopping. And there are many
boating trip in the area--sail on a windjammer; ferry, or mail boat to many nearby islands.

Summary: The owner was extremely pleasant and available by phone, his parents live next door, wonderful people. The beach was not conducive to sitting out on, piers could not be used. There was construction across the street all day lots of noise and traffic. The kitchen was not well organized very old pots and pans. Shower had poor water pressure. Did not feel Like the place was worth the money charged . On the other side of the coin: I was unaware just how remote it was, if you’re not there for hiking or water activities, little to do. But I got to relax and enjoy the sun!

Summary: We had an awesome time! Beautiful property with its own private beach. Amazing views, true Maine cabin feel with modern amenities like washer and dryer. Picnic table and swing in the pretty front yard overlooking the ocean were great. Tv and WiFi added bonus. Kayaks if u want to use them plus lobster pots, fire wood, grills, etc. We can't wait to return soon!!

Summary: Really enjoyed being set apart from it all with beautiful views. Great hiking and biking. The dog and kids had a blast. Owners were wonderful, informative and responsive.

Summary: This is a wonderful, rustic place in the woods with the bonus of fabulous ocean view and all the comforts one needs for a retreat in beautiful Cushing, Maine. I arrived to find a lived-in place on a quiet little two-lane road. As I walked up the steps to the small front porch, it seemed very no-frills. On taking a look inside, I found a neat, cozy space with both fireplace and a doorway leading to a great kitchen. Both were very well appointed and impressively so. The living room even had a nice library; the large kitchen was well-equipped with everything from lobster pots to an espresso/cappuccino machine. Also the kitchen had the benefit of both an old wood stove and a gas range. On further exploring, I found bedrooms, one with a skylight, and, as it turned out, all with comfortable beds with nice linens. The one bath is quite modern with a very nice, roomy shower (with seat) and a window that actually works (with screen). The cabin is not air-conditioned, yet I had no problem with excessive heat; the fans provided made the place cool and comfortable. As to outside the house, there's a nice old shed, just outside the back door of the cabin with washer/dryer and an extra refrigerator. Very convenient and unique. The beach is indeed private and about a thirty second walk from the house. It's on a lovely cove across from an island which is a perfect distance for a kayak trip from the beach. David provides both 'yaks and a couple of life jackets. Even if you don't spend time on the beach, spending time just watching the water (with it's passing lobster boats and other craft) is a BIG feature of this magical place. This place really grows on you, seeming like home very quickly after your arrival. Would love to return!

Summary: I have summered in Maine my whole life, 50+ years. I have enjoyed family camps / houses on lakes and ocean front. The timing of our vacation this summer (2015) required a rental. I searched for a rental that met our budget and felt familiar to past experience. The rental was just as described. The house was clean and welcoming. The view is beautiful, just a short walk across a quiet street to the beach. Nice sized lawn with chairs and big picnic table. There are stairs to the front door with a landing perfect for having morning coffee and bird watching. We saw bald eagles and osprey several times. There are neighbors but the area is quiet and friendly. The road is quiet, used by seasonal resisdents. The location of the rental is convienent to all things Maine... Lobsters purchased from the local fishing harbors, ferry to Monhegan Island, Rockland Lobster Festival, kayaking, hiking, shopping, charming towns (Booth Bay, Damirscotta, Thomaston, Rockland, Camden). Not too far from LL Bean, about an hour. The house is very much a family "camp" or cottage, welcoming with evidence of owners that enjoy The Maine way of life. The interior of the house is wood defining of a Maine camp. Lots of windows, large picture window for a great view from the living room. Several fans are provided, we used these in each of the 3 bedrooms. The kitchen is large with a table that can seat 6 with ease- the living room has a dining table also. The fridge / freezer is on the smaller size, but a standard size unit is available in a clean shed 10 steps from the house. A washer and dryer is in the shed as well. Back to the kitchen, there is a working wood stove as well as a modern gas stove / oven. The dishwasher makes it easy to keep the kitchen clean. Linens are provided. The sheets were soft and the beds, although quite firm, were comfortable. Bath towel sets were provided for each person. The bathroom had a large shower with a corner seat. I would rent this house again. It met my expectation, as well as my family's (husband and 3 adult children). Communication with the owner was great, friendly and helpful. Thank you to the owners for a relaxing vacation with the comforts of home, by the sea, in Maine.
