Summary: I was looking for a quiet, isolated, peaceful place to stay and that’s exactly what I got. The property is in a subdivision in the mountains but the cabins aren’t too close together, Chipmunks, deer, and birds are frequent visitors. There’s a nice deck where you can sit during the day and absorb your surroundings and at night see the stars. I absolutely loved every minute of my stay. The owner is wonderful, kind, and caring. This is an isolated area so the closest stores and restaurants are approximately 30 minutes down the mountain. There is one restaurant that is open occasionally about 5 minutes away but this isn’t a place with everything nearby. The cabin isn’t fancy or upscale and you have to be prepared for wildlife that occasionally gets inside. I absolutely loved it and would return in a second. As stated before the owner is a wonderful man.

Summary: This property was a comfortable mountain cabin but needed some modern updating. The directions to the property were adequate but the street signage was lacking, on some tight dirt roads. That said, it is secluded in the mountains, so access is off pavement. The property has a comfortable camp feel, but needed some modernizing. We really enjoyed the outdoor deck area…with a perfect clear area for excellent Star gazing. The property is near enough to Pueblo for easy access and near great outdoor recreation opportunities like Bishops Castle, tons of hiking and biking trails as well as lake San Isabel minutes away. If you want to explore this area of Colorado, you can’t go wrong with this as a home base.

Summary: This unusually well maintained cabin is a delight for those of us who appreciate cleanliness, privacy and quiet. Although in a small community, the cabin is surrounded by tall pines and there is an air of peace pervading the place. We found it to be both charming and efficient, with no unusual restrictions or special requirements placed on guests to interfere with our enjoyment of the week. It afforded us easy access to multiple trails in the area, as well as Lake Isabel and day trips over to the Westcliffe area where we also found great trails. Everything in the cabin has been well cared for and is fully operational. It is unique in our travel stays to find a cabin that almost feels like it has been perfectly preserved while being used. I think it was probably the cleanest rental cabin I have ever found, the mattress was good and the linens were nice. The fire ring area, deck and lawn seating areas were also very well kept and comfortable to extend our living space well beyond the cabin. We intend to return to this place.

Summary: Lack of WiFi for cellphone was an issue, bc we had a death in the family & no one could reach us. However, other than that, it was truly a lovely location & a wonderful experience.
