The Lighthouse invites you to the perfect Cortes Island get-away for larger groups and families wishing to holiday together. This beautiful, southwest-facing, 4500 square foot country home offers spectacular 180-degree views of the Georgia Strait and the ranges of Vancouver Island.
Situated on 2.2 acres overlooking Smelt Bay, the house comes complete with a heated 18' x 35' swimming pool. The decks and patios leading from every door are safe-guarded for the protection of small children.
Relax around the pool or pick sand dollars, dig clams, gather oysters, go fishing, or just sunbathe on the beautiful white sandy beaches of Smelt Bay and Hague Lake. The area is known for its magnificent sunsets. The front of the house has a spacious courtyard with kiwi trees, hanging wisteria vines, and a fountain - a great shaded dining area when the sun is at its peak. The spacious half acre lawn features croquet and badminton, and lots of room to play frisbee, soccer, or just have a picnic.
We are within walking distance (or a two minute drive) to 'Hollyhock', Canada's premier campus for personal growth workshops and societal well-being. Nearby, Misty Isles Adventures offers sailing and kayak tours.

Summary: Our large group of 19 was welcomed and hosted so well! Tony and his family were responsive when we needed something and his kiddos were so lovely - our kids loved playing with them. The home was very large and fit our family so well. We had everything we needed and more. The pool was a blast a dn well supplied. Any group would be lucky to have stay here!

Summary: This was the most amazing property. This was our 32nd year for our family reunion. The group has traditionally been quite large with myself and three sisters, our children and significant others. This property immediately felt like home to us. It was so well set up for everything. We always bring extra bedding, utensils, pots, pans etc but we had no need to do that here. The house had a large open concept area for dining, living and kitchen but then the bedrooms were far enough apart (and in abundance) that everyone had suitable privacy. The pool table, piano and inground swimming pool were well utilized as well. Our hosts were amazing and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this rental property and Cortes Island as a vacation destination.

Summary: We all had a great time re-uniting with our families for some time to relax, play and explore. We couldn't have been happier with the accommodations which surprisingly fit 4 families easily. Even enough yard space for a baseball game. Loved it and our hosts which are nearby for anything you may want or need.

Summary: We have been coming to this property for the past five summers and it is perfect for our four families. Our children have great memories of their summer vacation on Cortes. Tony and his family are excellent hosts and have always been attentive any time we have needed anything or made any requests for our future stays. The house needs some work but every year we notice some upgrades. We are booked for the next two summers already! Looking forward to returning to our home away from home.....

Summary: We actually stayed twice, once with family and another time with friends. It was incredible both times!! There was a crazy lightning storm one night and we just happened to catch some cool footage that made on the local news too. Would come here again in a heartbeat!!

Summary: This house is set up perfectly for multiple families to gather. The kitchen is huge and has all the appliances (the fancy coffee maker was a hit)! The kids loved the pool and games, and I came with a 9 month old and this place was very well baby proofed. Overall we all loved our stay, and already are dreaming of when we can come back again. Thanks for having us again Tony!
