Coriolana sits overlooking the fabulous 3-mile pink sand beach on Windermere Island. A visit to Windermere offers tranquility, privacy and the restorative beauty of nature; fresh home-made bread and vegetables from the Farm shop, and delicious rum cocktails add to the pleasure. The pace of life slows, books get read, and there is all the time in the world for sunrise walks and sunset swims, snorkeling on the reefs and diving for conch.
Considered to be one of the most beautifully designed houses on Windermere, Coriolana has wonderful inside and outside living spaces. The wrap-around terrace overlooking the Atlantic, and the tranquil courtyard around the swimming pool both offer seating and dining areas. The elegant living room looks out across the turquoise sea to the East and the swimming pool to the West, through glorious french windows. Each bedroom opens out onto the terrace, and offers direct access to the beach, down a picturesque stairway, and the sound of the surf soothes you to sleep.
The master bedroom has a lovely large four-poster bed, and a large en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower. Bedroom 2 can adjoin for family use, or be separate, as both have direct access to the pool and to the beach. All bedrooms and living areas have very efficient air-condition, but the sea-breeze and the ceiling fans means that it is rarely needed. All four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.
The kitchen is fully equipped and there is also a great new barbecue.
The house-keeper and caretaker can help you with car rental, shopping, restaurants, cooking, babysitting, cots and more. While you are staying you also have temporary membership at the Club At Windermere, where you can use the tennis courts, restaurant and bar. We provide a daily 4-hour maid-service; more can be negotiated as can cooking and babysitting.
Local boats will take you fishing on the reefs and exploring the mangroves, following the turtles, diving for conch and searching for starfish. A twenty minute drive takes you to some excellent restaurants and if you are missing the hustle and bustle then an hour and a half drive takes you to Harbour Island and its vibrant night-life.

Summary: A beautiful guest friendly house. Mere steps to the beach, plus a pool on the property. The property staff was gracious and very accommodating. A short bike ride to the private Windermere club, offering dining, its own pool and tennis courts.

Summary: My husband, two kids (10 & 15) and my 15 year old’s friend spent 6 days at Coriolana. It was one of the best trips we’ve taken as a family! The house was much larger than expected. It’s clean, the kitchen is well appointed and the outdoor spaces are absolutely perfect for afternoon napping. We spent a lot of time on the beach swimming and kayaking. We only saw three people on the beach. In 6 days. It was like our own little island. Bobbett was a pleasant surprise! She was amazing and full of information about Windermere and Eleuthera. She suggested we go kayaking on the other side of the island. The water was beautiful and we wouldn’t have known to do that. Also, my 10 year old was bummed there was no boogie board for the beach. She brought her niece’s boogie board for him to use! If you’re looking for people watching and crowded beaches, don’t come here. If you’re looking to relax and soak in the beauty of the Bahamas, this is the place. My kids never said “I’m bored.” That means this was a very successful trip! I highly suggest Coriolana for families.

Summary: Beautiful home and the location was perfect if you are flying in by private aircraft. Bobbett was wonderful and attended to all our needs. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. House needs a bit of updating but that was not a huge issue.

Summary: For anyone who appreciates true tranquility, this home is perfection. It is just steps from a quiet beach that goes on for miles, fully equipped with everything you will need on your vacation. The layout is spacious; the photos do not adequately represent the floor plan. There are wonderful rooms for communal gathering both indoors and out, and waterfront views from every bedroom (each with its own private bath). This home is well cared for by Bobbett and William, and the appointments are truly luxurious. We hope to return soon--it really was perfection!

Summary: "Can we live here," my wife says! A wonderful weekend with good friends in a beautiful home in Paradise! The perfect "Get Away", I took my watch off and just drifted for 4 days enjoying wonderful food and the occasional Rum Punch, combined with lengthy walks on the beautiful pink sandy beaches. We only saw 2 people the entire time! It was heaven on earth! There cannot be many more idyllic places to spend a holiday. Relaxing and simply gazing at the surf is so calming and time just drifts past as if we did not have a care in the world. With our busy lives, it was exactly what we needed! If we felt the need to get busy that wasn't a problem either! We biked, hiked, snorkeled and swam! The house is so charming with loads of space and every creature comfort including eating a Bahamian meal prepared by "Bobbett" was exceptional and memorable as expected! There is nothing missing in this paradise from the bikes to the beach, dreamy long walks and star gazing at night! Get sand in your toes as they say! We wish to return as soon as possible please!!

Summary: My family booked beautiful Coriolana for 10 days in August and didn't want to leave! We have rented previously on Windermere in the summer but found this house to be by far the greatest rental we have had yet. We loved the way the living spaces were central to the home and the bedrooms on the "wings". Each bedroom has its own ensuite which is lovely when bringing an extended family especially. The wrap around veranda was spectacular to use to watch the sunrise each morning with our coffee or to enjoy reading at the end of the day. Having the pool was fantastic for the those who tired of the endless, deserted beach and for the kids to play in. My teenagers loved using the bikes every day to head out and explore the island. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could ever wish for and the BBQ is an added bonus. The laundry facilities are great as is the "sports" closet with lots of snorkel gear and a few beach chairs. The property is beautifully maintained and the flora and fauna are spectacular. Bobbett and her husband take such good care of the house, and us guests. Anything we needed or had questions about, Bobbett was there to answer and facilitate. We specified how we wanted the beds set up before we arrived and everything was perfect for our arrival. We are always a bit nervous when trying a new rental, but we were pleasantly surprised with Coriolana. The pictures on this site do not do it justice. The house is breath taking and the views even more so. We will definitely be back!!
