This beautiful house is a place to relax. It is cozy and comfortably furnished. Amazing view. Beautiful nature, nice picturesque places and golf in the area. Cooking service on request. The climate of the Poitou Charente is, thanks to the warm gulf stream, one of the sunniest regions of Western Europe.
Le Maine Menot is suitable for large groups. Whether you are with family or with friends with or without children, this house is wonderful for everyone who wants to enjoy together under one roof but also loves privacy.
The bedrooms with bathrooms are spread over 5 separate parts of the house. Prices are based on 18 people. With 20 people you rent the Master Bedroom. You can rent this exclusive spacious bedroom with its own bathroom and private entrance to the garden at an additional cost. With 22 people it is also possible to rent our family room. Today we can accommodate up to 23 people. Ask the owner about all possibilities.
Le Maine Menot is luxurious and well-equipped in everything. In addition to a private swimming pool and sauna, there are a total of 13 bedrooms with wonderful box-spring beds, 6 bathrooms, 6 toilets and a semi-professional kitchen. There are 5 fridges, 2 freezers and all necessary equipment in the house. You also have all your linen, lots of toys and your own outdoor swing, table tennis, pool table, soccer game, a games room with games and lots of books and DVDs. Your own SPA can be arranged at home during your stay.
What makes our house so unique? Because it is possible to sleep with so many people under one roof and still have the feeling of privacy. In total there are 23 sleeping places. The rooms are spread over 5 places. This makes it so useful for friends, also with children, to get everyone involved. Outside you will find various terraces, a private swimming pool and a sauna. The Abri is ideal for eating outside in bad weather and still enjoying the beautiful view.
There is so much to do in the area of Le Maine Menot. You can think of canoeing or kayaking, tennis, horse riding, swimming, mini golf, or the beach of Aubeterre with swimming in the Dronne, walking / hiking, mountain biking.
The area is beautiful. In the spring and autumn the wonderful 'late summer days', the tranquility of nature and the pure air. The house is located on the border of the Charente with a beautiful view of the Dordogne; you have the best of 2 regions. There are many local markets in the area. Local restaurants where you can have a delicious lunch (menu ouvrier). In the summer, weekly picnics are organized in the surrounding villages: long outdoor tables, many stalls selling local and organic products and large barbecues. Angoulême is a beautiful big city 30 minutes away. Le Maine Menot is close to St. Emilion, Bordeaux and Bergerac. The many castles make the charm of the region. There are also several golf courses in the nearby area. This location is therefore certainly suitable for golfers.
During the stay of our guests we live less than 5 minutes away. If something is wrong, we are there to help. We also take care of the cleaning on Saturdays and, on request, we also provide Cooking service at home. We want you to feel at home at Le Maine Menot.

Summary: This is a stunning, large property in a fairytale setting. Beautiful old stone property on the outside but with every modern comfort inside and all the space we could need. The gardens are lovely and extensive so we could find a quiet spot inside or out, no matter how large a group. The pool is set in a lovely spot - large and heated with superb views. Such a relaxing holiday. We stayed and had all our meals provided by the owners. Fresh, home cooked produce each day. The house is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean and the terraces look out over a fabulous landscape. The idyllic French retreat we have been looking for. Couldn’t believe the size and space of the property and obvious it is well maintained by the owners who were on hand to provide suggestions of places to visit. Can’t wait to stay again. We’ve stayed in many French places but this is close to perfection.

Summary: Our family of 23 stayed here for a week in August. The farmhouse was perfect to accommodate all ages of the family from 2 - 68. It had everything we needed for a lovely holiday, most importantly plenty of fridge space to of course cool the wine down!! Loads of outside space for dining and the children to play and explore and the wonderful pool to cool down in! Everyone had a wonderful time at the farmhouse and in France Thank you Carole & Family

Summary: What a fantastic house for a family holiday. The bedrooms gave us just the flexibility that we needed with such a wide range of ages. Frans and Suse were available whenever we needed them, but also allowing us privacy to get on with our holiday. To see the photos of what this building was when Frans took it over compared to what it is now, is just amazing. The view from the terrace is great, and to hear a Nightingale singing in the valley below was the icing on the cake. Loads to do in the area. We did the canoeing, which was great fun and drove up to Angouleme for the shopping. I cannot praise the Le Pitaud restaurant enough. Just 10 mins drive away, we went there twice, but I wish we had found it earlier so we could have gone again. They speak English and boy do they know how to make you feel welcome. I can't wait to go back to Le Maine Menot in the not too distant future.

Summary: We had a truly fantastic two weeks at Le Maine Menot with a mixed group of family and friends with ages ranging from 1 to 80. Twenty four people in all with a change over mid-fortnight and everyone had the best time. The house is fabulous, very well equipped and perfect for a large group or, we would think, a small one too. It is in a beautiful setting with lovely outdoor terraces, barbecue area, pool, sauna and children’s play area. There are some interesting towns and villages nearby and plenty of things to do. Frans and Suse were the best hosts, paying great attention to detail and always ready to help. We had two brilliant meals catered for by Suse and 9 of the party had massages…bliss!! Many thanks to Frans and Suse and we cannot recommend this house highly enough!
