The heel of Italy will charm you and capture your heart with its unique trulli, fabulous coast line and endless olive groves. Puglia is the ‘bread basket’ of Italy and famed for its local fresh fish, fruits vegetables and fabulous local wines, so eating delicious healthy food and embracing the slower pace of life is a sheer joy.
The unique local buildings, known as a Trullo, pepper the landscape with their conical stone roofs, they create a romantic holiday destination. The unspoilt Adriatic coastline is only a 25 minute drive away through beautiful countryside, so you can enjoy days at the beach. The region offers the advantage of 2 airports, Bari and the closer, more convenient Brindisi – around 35 minutes away. Trullo Cicerone comprises the ancient trullo with 1 double bedroom, with ensuite and an adjacent modern villa which houses 2 spacious en-suite double bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a lovely freestanding bath and shower, which can be opened up with its sliding doors to offer triple aspect views. The second villa bedroom can be set up as a spacious double or twin and both villa bedrooms have French doors opening onto the veranda or terrace. The third bedroom is in the trullo, where you can sleep under the magical cones and has a good size en-suite shower room. The fascinating property has been recently tastefully renovated and elegantly decorated. It is set in large grounds with the added bonus of a beautiful private pool (10 metres x 4 metres, plus a spiaggia pool for sitting in ) where you can enjoy sun drenched days and tranquil evening sunsets. The property has all modern conveniences, including newly appointed kitchen with oven, dishwasher fridge freezer and a washing machine, toaster and kettle. The stone walls and lofty cones provides a lovely ambient environment and the doors and windows are fitted with mosquito nets. Bedding and towels provided. Just as a little note there is a long drive, which can hold several cars. The property lends itself to alfresco dining, with a coal BBQ and a splendid outdoor table set under a cool veranda that will enable a family and friends to enjoy shady lunches or sumptuous star lit dinners, after a perfect Italian sunset aperitif.
In the cooler seasons you can come inside the magical Trullo cones and cuddle up by the log burner, for the perfect end to your day. In winter the elegant stone floors will be heated by the under floor heating – this is truly an all year round destination.

Summary: A stay at Trullo Cicerone is an experience not to be missed. We just adored the Trullo. It was extremely comfortable and peaceful. We had everything we needed. We truly enjoyed exploring the area. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. We had dinner prepared for us one night by Pina. One of the best meals we had in Puglia and so much food! The Trullo was perfectly clean and so many nice touches like slippers and robes! We also really enjoyed relaxing by the beautiful pool. Thank you Sally and Martin for a perfect week!

Summary: I booked this property WAY in advance for my long-awaited retirement celebration. Many years of dreaming and saving! Well, it turns out that my daughter decided to get married on this trip! It could not have been a more magnificent location and setting. Clean, spacious - and fairy tale magical. Pastoral setting with a beautiful pool and fruit trees, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. Sally coordinated with Pina, her friend, who cooked a magnificent wedding feast for the 4 of us. They decorated in traditional Puglian style. The meal was abundant and delicious. Pina's sister turned out to be a hair stylist - she did the bride's hair! Sally also found us a fantastic photographer. My daughter's wedding was more magical than any of us ever dreamed it would be. Oh, the many ways Sally is the best host ever! Here's an example: I went out for a run on our 1st day at the Trulo, and I got terribly lost. Sally actually came and rescued me! I cannot recommend this property and host enough. Every recommendation in her guest book was spot- on. The Trulo was beautiful, extremely well stocked, comfortable, in perfect working order, and beautifully appointed. Thank you, Sally, for a stay in Puglia that we will never forget!

Summary: We stayed at Trullo Bugello at the end of July-beginning of August 2023 and had a fantastic holiday there. As other reviews have mentioned, Sally the owner was an excellent communicator from the outset and was always on hand to answer any questions via WhatsApp. The trullo is located in the Valle d’Itria, close to Cisternino. The facilities at the trullo were excellent, with stylish furniture and accessories in the bedrooms, kitchen and lounge area. The garden and pool area were also lovely, with plenty of loungers and seating areas in which to relax. As well as providing a guide on places to visit in the area, Sally included recommendations for restaurants and cafés which we found very useful. Pina, a local lady also cooked one of the delicious menus on offer for us one evening, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend staying at Trullo Bugello when visiting the beautiful region of Puglia.

Summary: Sally was the best host. She was on hand whenever we had questions or needed advise. Her trullo is beautiful and very well kept, fully furnished and exceptionally clean. Each bedroom had its own well equipped bathroom along with the kitchen. A personal cook was provided for a special occasion. Pina and her sister used the kitchen and cooked us a fantastic birthday meal one night. There was a choice of menus all at very reasonable prices. The food she cooked for us was fantastic and the lemon drizzle birthday cake she made especially for a 60th birthday party that we held at the villa. The swimming pool was large and clean and we spent many hours in it. The garden is large and has several seating areas with tables. I would highly recommend a holiday in this villa. We will return. Thank you Sally for everything, you are amazing and so is your house.

Summary: The Villa was as advertised. A beautiful setting and the opportunity to experience staying in a trulli house with modern amenities. We visited the nearby towns. And enjoyed relaxing on the grounds and the refreshing pool. We had everything we needed. And Sally was available to answer questions about the area and arrange services including a drive one evening for dinner.

Summary: We stayed for a week in May / June and I hope its not too long before we return. Villa is outstanding and the hosts were beyond helpful to all our asks. The Trulli is fabulous very well equipped and stylish we couldnt fail to be impressed. Sally was exceptional helpful before and whilst we stayed. If you are looking for a Trulli near Martina Franca this is the place. Thank you for having us we loved it x

Summary: We have had a lovely stay in Sally’s Trullo. The property is in a quiet location but really close to some of the most beautiful towns which we really enjoyed visiting. Sally provided us with lots of useful information and was available via WhatsApp to provide help or recommendations. The property is extremely well appointed with a lot of love and care shown by Sally. My eldest son is 6ft 3 and found his bedroom in the Trulli to be a bit small for him but he happily shared with his brother in the modern part of the villa instead-they are not connected internally. We had a lovely stay and wish to thank Sally for all her advice and her agent for being helpful. I spoke to Sally before we left the UK and her help was invaluable-you have a super holiday home, thank you for sharing it with us. Best wishes, The Penn family

Summary: Sally’s house is simply perfect! We couldn’t have asked for more for our holiday with family and friends. The house and trullo are beautifully decorated, very clean and spacious with four bathrooms and two very large rooms in the annex. The pool, patio and the various outside seating areas are perfect to enjoy the house to its fullest with dinners and lazy days by the pool. Sally and all her team are very responsive and extremely helpful whenever we needed help! A special shout out to Pina and Antonietta who cooked for us at the Villa and made us experience a real Pugliese dinner! We cannot fault anything at Sally’s house and it made our holiday in wonderful Puglia all the more special!! We will surely be back!!

Summary: We were 5 well travelled holidaymakers and this was our first visit to Puglia and a Trullo. Nothing let us down. Such a quirky. beautiful, well presented home and so welcoming - as was Sally the owner, her agent and her Italian contacts who cooked and taxi’d for us. Simply cannot fault it - thanks again Sally. Summary: One of the best properties we have rented with all modern conveniences in an in an idillic setting. The trullo part of the building has been sympathetically renovated with a modern kitchen and quaint bedroom and bathroom suit. The second building has two beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms with a handy utility room with washing machine. Plenty of outdoor dinning areas, we particularly loved sitting under the veranda in a morning with a coffee and eating alfresco in the evening. Everyone enjoyed the pool to cool off during the day. Lots of nice touches like the welcome pack, pool towels and slippers made the difference. Sally recommended lots of places to visit and eat. We will recommend this properties to our friends and family.
