Welcome to our cabin, overlooking the crystal clear waters of Keuka Lake. Enjoy the large deck, equipped with a propane grill. The first floor bedroom has a full size bed. The open loft space above the living area has two twin beds. Please be advised that bed linens and towels are not provided. The kitchen is fully equipped for your in-house cooking and dining needs. The cabin sits just above the lower East Lake Road, where you can enjoy jogging, bicycling or leisurely walks. There is a large dock, as well.

Summary: Beautiful view! This didn’t bother us at all, but there are a lot of steps to get to the dock from house. For some people they might want to know this before booking. It was perfect to us, and Roxanne the owner is a delight. Such a wonderful lady.

Summary: We 100% enjoyed our stay and definitely would recommend this property to friends. We really like to cook and found the lack of utensils/pots/pans/bowls challenging. So a heads up about limited cooking supplies would have helped us plan to bring additional things like sharper knives, cutting boards, foil, etc. Again, would not have changed our plans and we enjoyed our time, a heads up on the property build next to this property would have been appreciated as they worked until dark Friday evening and were back early Saturday morning.

Summary: The Leeside was a wonderful little cottage. The front porch is beautiful and the view excellent. The dock and beach area is wonderful. There are two docks. One larger one and one smaller one. There are lounge chairs and a table and chairs both on the dock and on the porch. It’s a perfect cottage for a small family. And the host was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Very sweet and accommodating.

Summary: We will never book another VRBO trip without having more thorough details of a property and a lot more correspondence from the property owner. If we hadn’t checked in with the owner about how to gain access to the property, we would have shown up without bed linens and towels, which appeared to be optional on the VRBO description but were actually not included at all. There were a lot of things that were broken or just barely “intact.” Most notably, the shower only technically works. The water pressure is very low, and the control/handle is either broken or installed incorrectly, making it impossible to control the temperature. Window shades were just barely anchored to the walls, curtain rod hangers were broken, and light bulbs were burned out, missing, or uncovered. In general, what décor and fixtures there are in the house are in need of some attention. Our trip was in mid-October, and the house was very cold when we arrived. This was in part because the electric baseboard heaters were completely off, and in part because the air conditioning unit in the window was still in place and there were ¼-inch-wide open gaps on either side of the unit. It took several hours for the house to heat up, but only in those rooms where there are heaters. We had to use duct tape to seal the edges of the window. Please be aware that you will get the bare minimum of amenities if you stay at this property: on the VRBO description “cable/satellite” really means “10 local channels,” and that is all. Also, there are no media players (VCR/DVD). I know vacations aren’t supposed to hinge on watching television, but if you plan to buy a bottle of local wine and watch a movie after dinner, or if you like to watch CNN or FoxNews before you head out for the day, you won’t be able to. One last observation: If you (as a renter) are 6-feet tall or taller, you will have to make some adjustments when you sleep in the double bed or use the shower. I think this property would be a bit challenging for parties of 4 or more. As I’ve already mentioned, we should have asked a lot more questions before we booked this property: we’re somewhat accustomed to property owners leaving instructions about the workings of the house or even who to call in case of emergencies/questions. This property had none of that. This, combined with a very minimally appointed property with upkeep deficiencies made this a less pleasant trip than it could have been.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay and the lake view, outside deck and private lake access were great. Our owner was very responsive to our online questions. It would be helpful to know where the linens and towels are located in advance if you choose to use them. The house was very basic but adequate. Great location for many vineyard visits.

Summary: The house is located on the lake with the most amazing lake views to wake up to and enjoy on the deck. There is a dedicated dock with lounge chairs/table to enjoy while you jump into the lake for a swim. It is minutes away from very charming downtown Hammondsport which has eateries, antique stores and a small food market. Minutes away from kayak rentals. House itself is simple and would work for a family of 4. The upstairs/attic which has 2 singles is a little dangerous for very small children (fine for my 7 and 9 yr old). There is A small bedroom with a full-size bed. The couch is not a pull-out bed. Unfortunately, we did notice a few new bugs every morning in the kitchen/eating area - small moths, ants, etc. but we spent almost all our time outdoors anyway and didn’t mind “roughing it out.” The house is literally in the woods - more like a cabin feel. The street is very quiet and our kids would scoot up and down. Roxanne is the sweetest owner and checked in on us a few times.

Summary: The property is as advertised and provides a wonderful view, with access to Keuka Lake. I have rated in 5 stars and the owner was gracious and accomidating. While I have given it a top rating, two things; (1) Kitchen outfitting, i.e. cookware etc. was only average and (2) while this is a very comfortable house for two or three people it would be a bit tight for four or five.
