Summary: Wonderful to explore this beautiful area, gorgeous walks, trickling streams, so close to sea, mountains and lots of sky! House was cosy and well equipped, home from home. Great place for dogs, walks straight from property. Good news that the local pub (2 min walk) is about to reopen this summer. Hope to be back soon.

Summary: 'Swn Yr Afon' is a perfect getaway. We loved the time we spent here. Abergynolwyn feels remote, nestled in its little valley in the middle of Wales, but in reality a Coop in Tywyn is only 15 minutes away. People we bumped into in the village were unfailingly friendly, which I hadn't expected. There's lots of great walking from the doorstep, both shorter walked suitable for kids (Dolgoch Falls) and more challenging routes (Cader Idris). I loved a twlight walk from the house to the nearby ruins of Castell y Bere with return along the river. The kids also loved the playground just outside the house; it has 'the coolest slide' and was close enough to send them alone. The house is beautifully and comfortably decorated with a good collection of games, books, and maps. While each bedroom has its charms, if you're coming with a group, it's worth fighting for the room at the top of the house. It has windows on each end of the room looking up and down the valley; it's one of the most magical places I've ever worken up. I look forward to coming back.
