Serene and welcoming,Sundari Retreat was built in 2008 and is close to all amenities in Otaki. My home is bordering a very pretty farm and is sunny and private. Sundari is a self contained cottage on my property and is decorated in Balinese style with a bamboo ceiling and solid timber floors. The furnishings and artwork are also Indonesian as is the sub-tropical garden and deck area. Two minutes drive away are all the cafe's, restaurants,shops and heated swimmimg pool. You will find a boutique movie theatre in Waikanae, 10 mins drive from Otaki.
Head off to the beach,walk in the bush,play golf, go mad in the outlet shops or do nothing at all! What ever you need to relax and spoil yourself, the choice is yours!
A continental breakfast is included in the room rate.
Flexible check in and out.
Two night minimum stay for long weekends. Three night minimum stay for Easter.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in the cosy studio, which was the perfect place to stay after a wedding nearby. The accommodation had everything we needed (including an iron and ironing board), and the host had kindly supplied plunger coffee, juice, milk, a selection of jams, cereal and toast which was a nice touch. Thank you for having us.

Summary: Partner and I had to find a place to stay two nights for a Wedding in Otaki. Super convenient for getting to bed late at night and just plopping straight to sleep. Bed is super comfy and good water pressure for the shower.

Summary: A small drive to a perfect weekend cottage for a nights rest and recovery. The charm and ambience was outstanding within the cottage and the delightful set up outdoors allows one to check out from the rush and running of life, a private wee space with a hot outdoor bath to gaze at the stars above can be accompanied with the amber lights of the nearby fire pit. It's a place like no other and so wonderfully put together by Dale with her light touch to make it a special experience. Breakfast provided and plunger coffee, waking up these additional treats sure does give you a sense of a home away from home. I was blessed to try the plum jam made by Dale, she's a talented woman. Highly recommend this place, I will certainly be returning. Close to the beach as an additional bonus, just a five minute drive to the very beautiful otaki beach with his a great place for a swim or fish.

Summary: A quiet and cosy self-contained bach. The host had prepared well with extras in the fridge and cupboards. The unit has its own verandah and patio, and access to the garden. My stay was 5 weeks but this was a great place to be even for a long stay. Otaki town is nearby and the beach is 5 minutes drive further. Perfect for stopping off, north or southbound.
