This 20 acre property is one of a kind and was renovated in 2006. All high end appliances and furnishings to provide the most memorable stay. 5 bedroom rental: (2 BDR on second floor, one with a King and other 2 singles), a lower level w/ 3Bdr (one with 2 sets of bunks and a twin, one with 2 twins and 3rd with a Queen for a small additional fee). The large living room w/ wood burning fireplace has great skylights and windows, dining room table seats 10, plus 6 counter seats. Butler/Prep kitchen includes its own dishwasher and large side by side refrigerator/freezer. A beverage/bar station offers a wine and beer fridge for drinks and glassware. Breakfast nook has a coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven. The main cooking area overlooks the family room and has a large stainless refrigerator, DCS double ovens, and a large Wolf gas stove with griddle. Large screen TV's upstairs/downstairs w/ vcr and dvd. Lower Level - (PROPERTY FEE) family room has a gas fireplace and large sitting area. A children's art corner will keep the little ones busy. Near Hartman's creek state park, standing rock county park, the chain of lakes, Foxfire Golf, Snowmobile Trails, etc. This is an awesome location for your get away.
Pets are welcomed for a small fee.

Summary: I would recommend this property. The property manager/owner, Mike was communicative and friendly. Beautiful place! Accommodated our large group perfectly ! Great location in that Hartman Creek State Park is moments away. Cleanliness score is 3-4/5 because of the kitchen. It's been used heavily. Rack in second kitchen oven didn't fit and there was no replacement, leaving us to place dishes directly on oven floor to bake while the 2nd oven was in use. Bring your own sharp knives for cooking, the ones available are broken and VERY dull. Large group was allowed only one roll of paper towels. Garbage bags and dishwasher soap pods also appeared to be rationed. Second coffee maker broken. Pots and pans heavily used and not that clean. Address on website is incorrect, correct one being County Rd D, NOT Hwy D ; these locations are about 10 min apart from one another.

Summary: Overall really enjoyed our stay but I would update/make a comment on a few items. 1. The ovens do not heat up accurately (oven thermometer registered 20-25 degrees lower). Please consider replacing. 2. While the grill worked, you may want to update/clean it prior to each visit. 3. Update what beds are in each room on the website as I believe they slightly differ from the answer you gave me in a prior email. 4. The oven grates are not sized appropriately for the ovens - they actually are a bit short and therefore risk of tipping/falling to the bottoms. Please consider replacing these as well.

Summary: A group of 10 high school girlfriends recentlystayed at the barn. We get together at least once a year and have done so for over 30 years!We always look forward to this weekend. We have had some great adventures from South Carolina to Kansas City and many rural Wisconsin and Chicago venues. The barn is a unique building and was fun to visit. The full size moose and eclectic artwork were charming and a treat. The owner allowed early check in (2hrs) and late check out (2hrs) We appreciated that. We encountered a few issues and we shared them with the owner to help future guests. These issues included oven racks that were ill fitting ( our food slid off of the racks becuaes the racks slid out of the ridges int he oven). There was one functioning Mr. Coffee 12 cup which brewed very slowly. The owner replied to my email that he would address these issues for the next guests. On Saturday evening the power went out for 4+ hrs during a storm-absolutely uncontrollable and certainly not the owner's fault. However there was no emergency phone contact for the owner nor someone in the area. All we had was an email address and although I emailed him several times through the VRBO site, we did not hear from him for 3+ hrs. I let him know that there were no flashlights, batteries, candles nor matches to be found. We looked in every single drawer and cupboard. His reply was that usually if/when the power goes out 'they get to him sooner than later' He politley ended the brief convesation with 'enjoy your stay!'. He never checked back to see if the power was restored either that night nor Sunday morning. Thankfully the power was restored after 4+ hours and we were able to eat at 10pm. The barn itself is a fun place to stay but would have been a little tricky to manage without heat, water and electricity for an indefinite period. My complaint is the apathy shown to our predicament. We would have appreciated some direction or a little kindness, an apology or a check back in to be sure we were ok. It wasn't awful but I am grateful there was not a real emergency. I can't help but be reminded that how a person does one thing, they do all things. I'd happily rebook. Next time we'd come with an emergency kit:) . If you book, ask for an emergency contact number and maybe bring a large coffee maker if your group likes to sit around and gab and drink coffee. Definitely ask about the oven racks.

Summary: Barn was beautiful & very spacious. We appreciated the toys and games provided for the kids. Few cons though: There were alot of dead flies in the loft tub & shower and stairways. There's a house right on the property as well (not sure if it's also a rented out place). There's also a Festive Food Company right by the barn. So the barn is not as secluded as we thought. If you have small kids playing outside make sure to check them for spiky burrs after! The extra apartment in the basement had a smell to it. Not sure if it was from the company next door, but the smell was much prominent at night. The oven racks sat awkwardly causing it to fall down when we placed food on it. Reached out to owner about extra supplies, but never got a response back. It would have also been nice if owner reached out first about checking in instructions instead of me reaching out day before. So just a small lack of communication. But we really enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend for family get-togethers!

Summary: Whole property and around was awesome! We enjoyed our trip! Only thing - there was confusion of various lights switch and subwoofer/speakers + some roof lights did not work. I tried contacting property owner, even though he asked someone to send but no one showed up!

Summary: We all had a wonderful time. The Barn was an incredible space for the 10 of us. With the number of bedrooms, we were able to accommodate all. Kitchens are equipped and laid out beautifully. Thank you Mike for the flexibility in checkin time. Managers/cleaning people were very nice. Only issues were the grill..could really use a cleaning. Also, would help to have the rules and instructions by the door, or a note saying where to find them, which included the wifi password. Although it said firewood was supplied, there was very little and what is there would have to be split. We purchased some. Small issues in the scheme of things, really! We had a wonderful time for our annual gathering, and the weather was perfect. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space.
