Spend your summer vacation, relaxing at "Big Sturgeon Retreat" , on Big Sturgeon Lake. This remodeled cabin is fully equipped and located only 100 feet from the clear water sandy beach of Big Sturgeon Lake. It's an ideal location for a relaxing, fun family retreat! Big Sturgeon Retreat will be open from mid-May to September 30th 2023.
Big Sturgeon retreat offers swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and relaxation in the sun. Big Sturgeon Lake is the largest of a chain of 5 lakes. The swimming area is ideal for children as the depth increases gradually.
For those that enjoy fishing..... walleyes, northern pike, bass, crappies, sunfish and perch are found in the lake.
The cabin has 2 bedrooms and a pull out couch (sleeps 6). It also has a fully equipped kitchen, stocked bathroom, and a living/dining area overlooking the lake. Other facilities include a 160 sq ft. deck, gas grill, picnic table, and change house on the beach.

Summary: The Powell’s and their family did everything possible to make our stay absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel comfortable and welcomed. The cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed for our week there. The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood and every person we met while out on walks was friendly and engaging. By the time we left we felt like we were part of the neighborhood. We would go back there every summer if we could.

Summary: This cabin was fully stocked with everything that we could have needed for a week stay and it was very clean. The fire pit, kayaks and changing house were great extras. The owners were very kind and easy to reach if needed. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice getaway!

Summary: Cannot say enough about how great it was even tho the last couple of days were cloudy and rainy. Loren and Judy Gunderson were so gracious making sure we were happy. Got yummy beers and raspberries and jam! Cabin is very user friendly and modern. Slept well ate well, swam a lot, boated, kayaking, hiking. Thanks for the great memories.

Summary: We stayed here for the week following our wedding, and cannot express how much we adore this place! We walked into the sweetest card and a bottle of wine to celebrate our wedding, and tge cabin in just stunning. Would be perfect for a couple, or a family trying to get some “lake time.” The sun sets over the lake by the house, which makes the kayaks really fun to use then! Every morning we would head out for a paddle and see all the lions swimming around. The beach is amazing with sand (hard to find) as well as a rock wall to stop the splashing from Big Sturgeon. Beautiful dock with a nice slip spot to store a boat if needed. Overall, we had an amazing one and would recommend staying here to anyone.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at the cabin very much. It was equipped with everything we could have possibly needed for the days we stayed. Everything was very clean and well organized. Enjoyed having coffee each morning overlooking the beauty of Big Sturgeon Lake. So peaceful and relaxing. Will defiantly rent again on our next trip to Minnesota.

Summary: My boys loved to stay in this cabin. The lake is kids friendly, not depth and clean water. The cabin is simple but have everything that we need, full kitchen, grill and a nice fire-pit that we enjoyed all evenings. As the weather was not too hot the temperature inside the cabin was nice we could open the windows and we had a good night of sleep. The owners are kind and proactive. We had a great time.
