Idyllic 200-year-old stone cottage, set in 2 acres of fully enclosed gardens of lawn and trees in a peaceful valley on edge of the forest of St. Sever with only horses, trees and birds as neighbours. Camellia cottage has been converted to high modern standards while retaining all original features of oak beams and stone walls inside and out with a huge traditional Norman stone fireplace. It provides 3 comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor over a large open plan living/dining room and kitchen. Within easy reach of sandy beaches around Granville, the D-day landing beaches, Mont St. Michel and Bayeaux. Nearest towns of St. Sever, Villedieu les Poeles and Vire offer excellent shopping and swimming pools while the countryside around is ideal for walking, cycling and bird watching from the hide on the nearby lake. Ideal for nature lovers of all ages. You will want to return again and again to this haven of natural peace and comfort.

Summary: Amazing, so in peace with nature at the cottage. A car is handy, if you like to explore the area. Within 1 or 1,5 hour so much to see and do.

Summary: A lovely cottage hidden away in a peaceful location. We enjoyed our stay immensely even though the weather was against us with rain every day, but this didn't stop us from getting out and exploring this beautiful region of France. With regards the cottage we do feel a little attention is required in places, such us: The garden furniture was old, dirty and requires replacing should have been at least cleaned for our arrival. TV reception v poor and at times was unwatchable, most possibly effected by the poor weather. Shower was dirty and broken, water was unable to drain away due to dirty and blocked drain-away, also dirty roof in shower again should have been cleaned before our arrival, due to Shower being broken, showering wasn't a great experience which is such a shame as upstairs was lovely. The information folder was useful but outdated and tired, would benefit from being redone as some instruction miss-leading such as heating, followed instructions but no mention of adjusting switch in cupboard. Overall as stated earlier, we did enjoy our stay greatly and thank you for the opportunity to rent this beautiful cottage. we hope our feed-back hasn't offended and we by no means intend to. kind regards.

Summary: We have stayed in this property prior to lockdown and enjoyed it so much we re-booked for September this year. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay again this time. Our only comments that would enhance the experience are: a) Wi-Fi would be a big plus b) Satellite TV reception was very intermittent c) The gardens need a bit of attention, noticable as they we so pristine last time we stayed

Summary: Located in a peaceful village in the countryside of normandie, the cottage has been beautifully restored and renovated with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It may feel remote but Most things are within 10-15 minutes drive. There are some beautiful beaches to visit within an hour from the cottage.

Summary: Camellia Cottage is a very special place. The yard and gardens are breathtaking, and the building is rich with history. Our children loved playing outside in the garden and on the play structure, and we went to feed the nearby horses some mornings! Many moments were straight out of a fairytale. It was so nice to have so much calm and quiet and to listen to the idyllic chirping of the birds. It was a wonderful stay.

Summary: The property is lovely, however there were some disappointments. There is a lot of conditions around leaving the property clean or you pay 35 euros for cleaning. The bathroom floor was dirty, I only discovered this when cleaning up extra water from shower. The sponge left out in the kitchen was dirty. The oven had a lot of food debris inside when you opened the door. We did leave the property clean however please do not quote to leave it clean if its not clean to begin with. The shower head kept moving when you had a shower so had to lodge this in one place. Six light bulbs had blown in the kitchen. We had no privacy in the garden. However the gardener came in his sit down lawn mower mid week whilst we were having lunch. Surly the grass should be cut on a saturday between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. The main bed was very uncomfortable and the mattress needs to be changed, hence we had to change beds which would have meant more laundry.
