7 Bedroom Cottage in New Forest District, Fordingbridge

Beck Cottage is a stunning 300-year-old thatched cottage located on a private lane with no passing traffic and within an enclosed & secluded plot. The cottage is located in the heart of the pretty village of Woodgreen in Hampshire. The Horse and Groom public house is located a few minutes walk away. A well-stocked village store is also within a 10/15 minute walk offering a full range of locally sourced products. Beck Cottage is a short walk away from the village green and cricket wicket. The New Forest National Park is yours to explore.
This picture perfect New Forest holiday home comprises a lounge with large wood burner and beamed ceiling, 50" flat screen TV with Freeview. Separate dining room with a large table and seating for up to 14. Large kitchen & breakfast room with all the usual appliances to make this a complete home from home experience. Doors lead off to the newly built wooden conservatory. Ground floor double bedroom with adjacent wet room. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite shower room, one twin bedroom with basin and one double bedroom, a family bathroom and separate toilet. On the second floor, there is a further double bedroom and another twin bedroom with a secret staircase! There is a Shepherds hut in the garden that can sleep 2 with Garden Shower room. Beck cottage can therefore comfortably accommodate up to 14 adults with additional fold out beds available for a small fee.
In addition there is a games room above the garage with football table and a table tennis table and with a trampoline in the garden.
Facilities and Services: Oil fired central heating and electricity included. Travel cot, 2 high chairs and stairgates available on request (but please bring own cot bedding), dogs welcome, fully enclosed mature and charming garden (not secure for small dogs) with patio and barbeque area with garden seating for 14, summer house, children's climbing frame, private parking for up to 6 cars.
Dogs are welcome to stay here max 3 at £40 per dog fee
There is a 4-6 seat hot tub available from £325 for short breaks and £400 for 7 nights

Bike hire available in Fordingbridge
Stay criteria is based on 7-night stays, long weekends Fri-Mon (3 nights minimum stay) or mid-week breaks Mon-Fri (4 nights minimum stay). First basket of logs free then £7.50 a bag thereafter.

From Salisbury: take the A338 south to Fordingbridge and Ringwood. At Breamore take the road signposted to Woodgreen.
From Ringwood: take the A338 north to Fordingbridge and Salisbury. Take the exit signposted to Woodgreen at Breamore

Nearest train station is Salisbury 10 miles 20 min drive
By Bus
Bus Route is X3 from Ringwood or from Salisbury with stop at Braemore then 15 min walk to Woodgreen on narrow raods.

Summary: Beck Cottage is a just gorgeous and so well managed and supplied. Everything was perfect for a long weekend from the welcome hamper to beautiful gardens. The Horse and Groom is literally a stone’s throw away with excellent pub fare. Highly recommend for a family or group of friends. Only complaint is checkout could be a bit later.

Summary: The cottage was lovely. 9 of us stayed plus 2 dogs and there was more than enough room for us all. The surrounding area was peaceful and the pub on the doorstep was great and the food there was amazing. All in all lovely 5 days away for my husbands surprise 50th. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Summary: We were having a three generation family long weekend and the space in the house, grounds, play barn and immediate environment was excellent. The house was clean and the bedrooms were spacious. There was a nice welcome pack to greet us and plenty of local information available. The property was warm and welcoming when we arrived and we all had a very happy time there.
