Positive: Great character. Lovely bedroom and bathroom and good study area. Delightful stay very near the historic old town of Ipoh. Our host Debbie was extremely friendly and helpful. She offered good site seeing advice and organised an excellent driver for a great trip to the cave temples and Mirror Lake. Lovely room and bathroom.

Negative: If we did not get the large round table for breakfast, the room off to the side was quite gloomy.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Positive: This place just has so much personality and character, thanks in large part to the amazing owner Debbie and her fabulous sidekick Mr Yee. They are the best ambassadors for Ipoh. The hotel has these super eclectic decorations everywhere, including in our room which had a lit-up rock display! Breakfast was delicious and abundant. But ultimately it’s the people that make this hotel so special with their warmth and helpfulness.

Negative: Everything was amazing.

Positive: We loved our stay at the Bedrock Hotel in Ipoh. The hotel was absolutely perfect for our two-day stay, and we felt very lucky to have booked it. The room was very spacious, exceptionally clean, and well designed. The bathroom was also spotless, and everything we needed was provided. The woman working at the hotel, who I believe might be the owner, was incredibly helpful. She gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat and visit, including a lovely library we would never have discovered otherwise. She also advised us on the best ways to get around and how to reach the train station, which was extremely useful. The location is another strong point. Being based in the New Town area is very convenient, with many great and less touristy food options nearby. The Old Town is also within walking distance, about 15 minutes away, making it easy to explore both areas. We did not try the breakfast, as there are so many food options in Ipoh, so I cannot comment on that.

Negative: The only minor downside for me was that the mattress was a bit hard for my personal taste, as I tend to get back pain with very firm mattresses. This is subjective and would not stop me from staying here again. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I return to Ipoh.
