Cozy home in the Woods, Large Dock, Quiet cove, Great location, Kayak, Stone fire pit, WiFi .Main level has spacious great room, wood flooring, and an open dining area, There is an updated kitchen with eat in island, perfect for entertaining. Just off of the great room area, there is a large open deck facing the waterfront side of the home and a very intimate dining deck area. The master bedroom and full bath with tile shower is located on this level. Lower level offers laundry area and a recreation room with a foosball table.
The exterior has a full walk out concrete patio overlooking the dock and private waterfront setting. There is a firepit for the kids to roast marshmallows or for the adults to sit around telling stories with a glass of wine after the kids have went to bed. A gravel pathway leads to the stone shrouded sitting and fire pit area at the edge of the overhead sundeck to the dock. Spacious covered boat slip and lots of room for friends to pull up on the floating and stationary walkways. Great quiet cove perfect for privacy, swimming, kayaking or canoeing. Great subdivision perfect for lazy evening walks in nature. You're sure to see some deer up close! Close in to dining areas, food and entertainment. There are 3 wooded acres on the property as well.

Summary: We visit smith mountain a few times a year and have never had a bad experience with any houses we rent. And this one has every thing we needed for the long weekend of relaxing

Summary: We were happy with the house and everything was clean and comfortable. CB Rentals and We’ve Got You Covered really delivered. Only negative was lack of a wide lake view but pretty lot in a pretty cove.

Summary: House was everything as stated. It worked very well for our family and we had a great week. Would suggest replacing and adding some kitchen items- old. Also, new house built right across from dock, so not a ton of swim and boat room.

Summary: The hosts were very accommodating for our dog, and communication was excellent including personal note to let us know what might be temporarily not working well (dryer), but they were getting it fixed. The deck, lounge chairs, and outdoor table were wonderful to while away the time with a good book; however, unbeknownst to our hosts, there was construction going on across the gut, which precluded enjoying he outdoors during weekday work hours. The location was otherwise quiet and deer-filled. The birds were also varied and active providing a restful ambience with my morning coffee.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Just as described, plenty of room, nice porch and dock. Also very close to lots of restaurants and stuff to do at SML. Highly recommended!

Summary: Generally speaking, this home was as advertised. We did make the most of the place and had a good time. There are some important details the owners should address to help make the stay much more enjoyable with less work by guests. 1) Ants - We arrived late afternoon at check-in time. We left for dinner and shopping for food and such to return with ants all over our kitchen counter, around stove, and in all cabinets. They were coming out of the walls through electrical outlets. The manager did come by early the next morning to spray. We had to then remove all dished from the cabinets and wash the entire kitchen once no more ants were observed. We chose to leave all food on the island and in the fridge to avoid ruining with more ants. Professional pest control arrived several days later to spray around the house. 2) Boat Dock Issues - This dock is not designed to property secure boats. There are no bumpers and the tie-downs are oddly placed. There are also screw heads sticking out of the 2x6 boards where the boat would potentially rub against. Bring large bumpers and extra rope to try and center between both sides. More tie-downs should be installed in logical places (can't have too many). Two at the very back for sure! 3) No basic cable - We read that all units are to have basic cable at a minimum. This home only has a local antenna. It did have Apple TV and decent internet. If you don't subscribe to Apple TV or Netflix, good luck trying to watch CNN. 4) Strong smell of dirty wood-burning fireplace - I do love a wood fireplace but this home smelt really nasty as if the chimney needs a really good cleaning. 5) Deck furniture cushions - I spent a couple hours early one morning scrubbing all of the deck cushions and the deck railing to get the animal poop off. 6) BBQ Grill - The grill was newer but someone prior to us appeared to have used charcoal under the cook surface. When I lit the propane burners, we had a sizable fire burning in the bottom of the nice propane grill (Scary). 7) Feather Pillows - If you have allergies, be aware there are feather throw pillows in this house. I suggest removing from home. 8) Additional Cleaning - We found ourselves doing additional cleaning such as the living room coffee table (sticky and had dog hair all over it) 9) Additional damaged items - Defective lower patio light (no lights). Washing machine knob appears broken. Closet knob pulled off.

Summary: The property is just as listed and there is plenty of room. The dock was nice and we really enjoyed swimming and relaxing. It is a steep walk up to the house from the dock, but we managed just fine ( our kids are 10 and 12). Would love to stay again!
