Positive: The hotel location was excellent. Just off in a side street, quiet hutong, the hotel was really close to the lively main pedestrianised shopping Qianmen Street and the side Liangshidian Street (Snack street) of local restaurants of handmade dumplings, roasted duck and beef mince / onion pancakes (plus a late night wine bar as well!). It's also close to Dashilan Street lined with full range of souvenir shops and markets plus more food choices. The hotel is super convenient to the metro stations line 8 running N-S connecting many Beijing highlights and lines 2 and 7 is you need to go W-E or around Beijing city, and walking distance to Tiananmen Square. Staff were friendly and polite. Rooms were cleaned daily. We had an excellent stay overall!
Negative: Not a real problem but note there are no lifts to rooms so if you have really heavy bags and are staying on 3rd floor, the friendly staff can help you get your bags to your room.
Summary: Excellent hotel location for a few days sightseeing in Beijing!

Positive: The location, the interior of the hotel (Hutong style) and the rooms, specially the ones facing the inner courtyard. The staff were really helpful and allowed us to keep our luggage while we were away for one night.
Negative: It could get a bit noisy at night.

Positive: Absolutely excellent location, although hard to find. Asked locals about 5 times before I found it. It's got a cool, traditional vibe. Super helpful and friendly staff

Positive: The location was really good, close to the main street and main square, but one street back so very quiet at night, the bed was firm and we all slept very well in them. We moved to another hotel (which was smelling of cigarette, and the bed were really bad) few days later in another area of Beijing to try something different, and we regretted not staying at the Hyde instead. From the airport you can take the Capital Airport Express to Dongzhimen then change to Line 2 and stop at Qianmen, then walk down Qianmen street to the hotel (Alternatively from Qianmen change to Line 8 direction Yinghai and stop at Zhushikou)
