Positive: Comfortable clean apartment, friendly host. Thoughtful little extras such as public transport passes and a laptop provided. Lively area - lots of good small Indian/Tibetan/Nepalese restaurants - but quiet bedrooms overlooking courtyard. Supermarket just across the road. Public transport (several buses, metro) within short distance, walkable from Gare du Nord, central Paris easily accessible. I would be happy to return next time I'm in Paris!
Negative: Everything was fine Only downside if you have heavy suitcases or moibility issues is 4th floor without elevator.

Positive: This apartment is very close to metro stations and the mainline station, so if you need that it is perfect. The owner got fans in especially as the weather was so hot, which really helped. It's a really nice big flat and has almost anything you need. It can get quite noisy outside, the windows did a pretty good job of keeping most of the noise out.
Negative: The location around Gare du Nord is "a bit rough" shall we say... It's a bit of a shock to the system if you're used to the posher parts of Paris after midnight I did find it gets a little bit "interesting" in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately while we stayed there the oven didn't work and grill didn't seem to get very hot, I'm guessing this will be fixed in future, but it's a bit annoying because self catering is curtailed without a cooker.
Summary: Nice stay in a different part of Paris that I'm used to

Positive: Such a beautiful and perfectly located Parisian apartment, close to three Metro stations (Louis Blanc was our fave). Just what you would expect, vintage furniture paired with quirky home accessories. The beds were very comfy (including the sofa bed). We were tucked away nice and safely at 4 floors up, behind two locked entry doors into the whole building. It is a quiet area where we weren’t disturbed at all.
Negative: Ideally it wouldn’t be 4 floors up, however we knew that when we booked. :) The stairs are worth the private, safe feeling of a 4th floor apartment.
Summary: A good location for arriving in Paris by Eurostar

Positive: Mo has a charming apartment a short walk from gare du Nord or gare de l'est. There's a supermarket right opposite, and the kitchen is fully stocked with pots pans etc. Really Parisian feel to the apartment and street. Lots of eating choices nearby. We walked from the apartment to the Louvre twice, really didn't take long, and lots to see on the way. Felt like a home from home. Thanks Mo!
