Summary: The property looks nice from the outside, but once you step inside you immediately know some kind of upgrades is long overdue. The room was small and outdated. The dining room was ok, but the breakfast was so so.

Summary: Hotel & Room was great although service at breakfast was poor - stood for around 10mins waiting for table, had to ask for tea, cutlery etc.

Summary: In the Highlands we have to accept there is not a huge supply of staff, so if some staff have an unusual approach to hospitality (e.g. "Can I have a half-of-Guinness? "No") try to think of it as part of the Highland experience, 'cos unless Hilton etc. open up here, this is the way it's going to be. Quirks aside, this was a good base if you need to be in Strathpfeffer. A surprising lack of eating / drinking options in the village. I don't think the season had properly started in June. Maybe July.

Summary: This is a lovely old manor house that is used by the bus tour companies. The house and carpets need some TLC as they are worn in places and the paint is a bit chipped. Although functional, the bathrooms could be updated. The grounds are lovely and it is very quiet- just birdsong. It’s only 40 minutes to Inverness and the village itself has a number of attractions.

Summary: Good older style hotel in a good location. Dinner in the dining room was convenient but had very limited menu and took a long time to be seated despite having a booking and it not being full, staff looked at us several times before someone finally came to us. Breakfast was better, fresh tea, coffee and toast. Hand held shower head only in rhe bath but a bath was a welcomed treat

Summary: The hotel is very dated but clean and served our needs for a stopover during a motorcycle tour with plenty of parking for the bikes. Breakfast was plentiful and the haggis was amazing. Not much to do in Strathpeffer but we found a lovely little cafe a few mins walk away

Summary: This hotel largely serves coach parties and is set up accordingly. Consequently it is often affordable to the independent traveler but what you get is the scrag ends left over from the crowd. For instance breakfast is served 7-9.30. We came down at 8.30 and the coffee had ran out so they were serving instant. We gave feedback at check out but the non committal look back suggested we should get over ourselves. If you get a good deal come with the expectations your mum and dad might have had in 1975 and you will enjoy.
