Positive: Amazing place. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The baths are gorgeous and everything is very easy to book and easy to get information through the hotel website. Breakfast was also amazing. Great selection of Japanese food.

Positive: The photos on the listing don’t do it justice. It’s a small, well designed venue within a beautiful garden setting. The private onsens alone are worth the visit.
Negative: The listing fails to make clear that if you wish to include dinner, you need to inform the staff several days in advance. Also, travel light because rooms are tiny. If you are two people it is cramped with nowhere for even small travel bags.
Summary: A boutique onsen ryokan with a fresh modern design edge and a caring, friendly staff.

Positive: Everything. Gorgeous private onsens. Common room filled with juices, teas and coffee. Staff is excellent. Japanese breakfast was phenomenal. Best place I have stayed ever. If you are wondering if you should spend the money and can, you should.
Negative: The interior of the glamping tent was a bit drippy at the front from condensation build up. Not a huge problem.

Positive: The staff were lovely. The food was some of the best we've had so far in 2 weeks across Japan staying at similar priced Onsens. The baths were amazing. The tech in the Onsen uses your mobile phone for QR code access to the property, to contact staff and to see when the baths were available - it was very convenient.
Negative: The room were very small. The guest lounge and baths were the place to sit and relax. Bring only a carry-on sized bag (max 1x medium suitcase). We repacked into a small bag and left most things in the hire car. We will be going back some day, we will put luggage into storage somewhere and catch the train out.

Positive: Absolutely my standout stay in Japan, a place I have both lived and travelled to more than a dozen times. Besho Onsen Midoriya is a beautiful modern Ryokan with private hot spring baths set in the most tranquil of settings. I particularly loved the Kaiseki set course dinner and of course the provided breakfasts. I will be back!
Summary: Absolutely my standout stay in Japan, from the private forrest baths to the set course meals!

Positive: Incredible nice welcome and checkin procedure. Everything is freshly renovated and brand new. Drinks for free and private Onsen is amazing, so beautiful with the outside pool and view to the forest. Room was big and had everything. The owner acconpanied us to a local Izakaya close by and we had an amazing dinner in tyoical japanese atmosphere cloe to hotel. Village is super cozy.
Negative: Everything perfect, it is a modern Ryokan at the best. I
