Positive: Great location to everything we wanted to see in Vancouver. Hire bikes across the road at English beach were very helpful. The staff were helpful and friendly and were able to accommodate early check in which was greatly appreciated after getting off a 14hr flight. Room was tidy and enough for us to be comfortable for our 3 day stay

Negative: Our room was a little loud at night due to the bar being underneath but it wasn’t a big issue

Negative: Driving to it and finding the parking lot. Streets are narrow in Vancouver, and the parking lot is up an ally behind the hotel.

Positive: The location was excellent. The rooms clean and comfortable and well stocked with coffee and teas. Loved the option of the fridge and microwave.

Negative: It would have been nice to have had a continental breakfast included in the stay.

Positive: The continental breakfast was great, really elevated options compared to the usual buffet style breakfasts you’d see at a hotel. Location was great, ocean views and overall quiet in the evening.

Negative: The staff member (hadn’t gotten his name, wasn’t wearing a name tag) we had dealt with when we arrived was not very pleasant or helpful with the situation we were dealing with. Although, Tony went above and beyond with helping us and offering solutions so we could get checked-in with ease.

Positive: The Best Western Sands is an excellent location for tourists to visit Vancouver's West End's scenic sites. Within walking distance you can walk the Sea Wall walkway into Stanley Park, close walking distance to a variety of English & Irish pubs, numerous restaurants and catch a short distance ferry to Granville Island. There are a multiple of tourist attractions to visit within the area and you can be assured that you'll never be bored as we had an opportunity to observe a gray whale eating ghost shrimp along the shoreline of English Bay.

Negative: Unfortunately, the Best Western Sands hotel rooms are very small & cramped with very little space for two adults. We stayed for three nights on the fourth floor and because we booked through a 3rd party website, the hotel placed us next to the pair of elevators which were very noisy all night. Our room was also located above the Park pub which was very noisy with vehicular & pedestrian traffic with bar patrons celebrating after the bars closed. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying at the Best Western Sands Hotel for any tourist families with children.

Positive: I had a pleasant stay. Staff... Very helpful. Location is epic. Right on English Bay. And right in the West End of Vancouver. A very magical place in the world. If you get a chance definitely, go to the in-house pub, go mini golfing at Stanley park, also check out the trails in Beaver Lake. There's so much to do in Vancouver. It's a wonderful place to visit. Please make sure if you're going to stay, please tip generously. Especially cleaning staff. They work so hard. Also may I suggest a donation to Stanley park to preserve all its beauty.

Negative: Staff were very kind. Food and room service was good. Everybody I saw there seemed very happy. Which is nice.
