A vintage Buckroe Beach bunker, two blocks from the beach. This quirky, rustic house is surprisingly roomy, with living, dining and Florida rooms, queen and twin bedrooms and a sleeping porch.
Buckroe Beach park, beach and fishng pier are within walking distance.
You'll be in the heart of Hampton, close to groceries, restaurants and shopping; 1 mile from Fort Monroe beaches and Oozlefinch brewery. Downtown Phoebus is a mile away (or an easy bike trip). Grandview Nature Preserve 3.78 miles.
30 minutes from Busch Gardens or Virginia Beach
This is an older home that we take great pains to clean, but since floor tiles, etc are not new, there are some stains on the tile/grout/etc that do not scrub out. The tub/shower has some dings to the enamel, but will be scrubbed. The kitchen and bath are basic galley-style layouts from another era (not showplaces :)
Up to two dogs under 50lbs are welcome with a $35 pet fee PER dog. Absolutely no parties or smoking. We are a tight knit neighborhood and look out for each other. Violation of the no party rule results in immediate cancellation of the stay with no refund.

Summary: My husband and I stayed here while attending a festival at Fort Monroe. The hosts are were excellent and thought of everything you might need. The house included garbage bags, coffee, toiletries, stocked medicine cabinet, first aid supplies, beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels and just about anything else you may need. This was the first house that I’ve ever stayed at that I didn’t have to run to the store for something. The house was very clean and well-maintained. The hosts were readily available and gave us excellent recommendations for food. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all. Walking and bike paths are along the beach too. I wish I had packed my bike. Definitely will stay here again if I’m in the area.

Summary: We had a great time by the beach. The cottage is a perfect size for a family with a dog. While dogs can't go on the beach during the summer months, we found other dog-friendly walks in the area. We liked being near so many places to visit - Jamestown, Fort Monroe, a variety of beaches - as well as the diversity of restaurants and people. Would definitely visit again!

Summary: This house is in a great location. It is withing walking distance to the beach and a short drive to both Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. It is very spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I loved that we could bring our dogs and they enjoyed exploring the huge fenced in yard. Genevelyn kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay. We hope to be back in the future.

Summary: This house is a nice place to stay for a quiet getaway! We were looking for a quiet vacation to relax about a busy school year and this place was exactly that!! The beach was in walking distance, downtown was a quick drive with a bunch of fun bars, breweries and restaurant. We have a lovely stay and a great start to our summer!

Summary: This place was very cozy 70's period decor. We had plenty of room to play games around the table. Beds were comfortable. Coffee pot, coffee, and other refreshments provided were excellent. Pets enjoyed the fenced yard.

Summary: When I arrived, my first reaction was, "That was not what I was expecting". The house is a cinderblock construction with a small front yard and adequate parking for two vehicles. The neighborhood was an established community of similarly appointed properties. It was a very nice neighborhood within easy walking distance of Buckroe Beach. The interior of the house was very clean and nicely decorated. Definitely has an eclectic feel. The master bedroom was nicely appointed, The other bedroom had two single beds as advertised. The front room was also a bedroom, which my son used. He was happy with it. The kitchen was pretty small but matched the description. That being said, there was more than enough cookware and accessories to prepare a great meal. One thing that struck me as very positive was that the house was supplied with all the stuff you forget - toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, and other things. I feel that the place was prepared to support visitors who showed up without everything in hand. That was awesome! My favorite part of the house was the sitting room off of the kitchen overlooking the backyard. It was spacious and had a great view of the BIG backyard. The only distraction was the laundry area which could benefit from a screen or a door to hide the necessary evils of living in a house - the laundry room. We had a great visit and the host was very informative on local resources and attractions. We came for the Airshow (Air Power over Hampton Roads) and are strongly considering a return in 2024. This property and Genevelyn were great and we would certainly consider returning!
