Positive: The location is pretty and rooms are clean.

Negative: The front desk team is not the nicest. The place is seriously overpriced. It’s located in a small village, there is no reason to charge that much for a small room without breakfast.

Positive: Not too far from the airport which was great after 2 days of travel, the room was comfortable and cool.. We loved seeing Howling Monkeys that came into the resort one evening. Next door was The Iguana Stop restaurant (only open weekends) which served great food. We loved visiting the baboon sanctuary near by (about 20 mins by car) The staff were friendly enough.

Negative: There wasn't much in the area at all, which meant we felt we had to eat at the onside restaurant which was hugely overpriced and the food wasn't great. So we ventured to a supermarket (20 min drive by car) to grab some supplies, however, we were limited as there's no kitchen facilities in the room. Our room was cool and comfortable, although there wasn't much natural light, so felt really dark. Beware of mosquitoes as its location is next to the river. My daughter ended up with tons of bites. The area and the hotel overall is a bit run down and the pool was super murky, you couldn't see your feet on the bottom. The Internet was down so we couldn't research the area. I don't think we'd return here unfortunately.

Positive: shuttle from airport was on time and can be arranged before arrival. The newer part of hotel was nice and clean and felt modern.

Negative: The portion size was small, food was ok

Positive: Very nice staff . Very cool to see howler monkeys daily. The housekeeping staff were very nice. Garden area was nice. AC good in the rooms. I had a fridge but not all rooms did

Negative: It is quite far away from anything. A 20 min very hot walk to the nearest village to get food , beer etc.. Music at the pool bar was often loud and annoying. Not a lot to do there . Food at the restaurant is marginal for taste and value Food at the resort is very expensive as are drinks and there is not really many places to eat elsewhere

Summary: A adequate hotel to stay in if you are ok with remote

Positive: I can’t say enough good about our stay , the property was very nice , the rooms were well done and possible the cleanest I have ever seen , the food on site was fantastic and the one thing that can make or break any vacation is the staff and they were top notch from the front desk staff and carried through to every employee we met , we did two tours and our guide Edmund was amazing visiting Altun Ha was on my bucket list so we checked that off , there is not one thing I would Change about this property it’s perfect just the way it is , I WILL be coming back to stay again
