Positive: Was easy to find straight off the A1, is in great condition for a 300 year old building, Landlady was very warm and welcoming even made me a bacon sandwich to go in the morning even though it was before breakfast time would stay again no problem, bed was really comfy

Positive: Good value for money. Very friendly staff/ owners.
Negative: Water not very good for shower. Freezing cold for ages then eventually slightly warm. This was the only negative of the stay

Positive: Breakfast was very good, with a good choice of hot and cold food. It is an old house with a lot of history, a bit tired but the upkeep of a place like this must be costly. The house was warm and the room was large and comfortable, even had an electric blanket on the bed. The staff were friendly and helpful and very welcoming. Excellent value for money, would definitely stay again
Negative: Getting across the A1 to continue journey north can be hair raising, so we turned left out of car park and followed road round and picked up A1 a bit further down. Added about 10 minutes to journey so no problem.
Summary: Excellent value, clean warm house, friendly staff and decent breakfast.
