4 Bedroom House in Mastic Beach

Enjoy beautiful sunsets over the bay on the wraparound deck of our spacious, newly-renovated house. Set overlooking Narrow Bay and pristine wetlands with magical views, big skies, shilf grass stretching to one horizon and the calm water of the bay to another, this is a special haven in the middle of Long Island's south shore.
10 minutes to Smith Point beach on the Fire Island National Seashore, 25 minutes to Westhampton and only an hour and 30 minutes from New York City, a short stroll takes you to a bay beach and a quiet marina. The ocean just beyond the bay and Fire Island Seashore can be seen on a clear day.
Our preferred style is clean and modern and we love to cook-- we built the kitchen to be cooked in and designed the rest of the house to feel light and spare. Whether you dine outside on the deck or indoors in the modern kitchen, windows on three sides bring you sunshine and beautiful views, and in the morning you can enjoy your coffee sitting on one of two private decks off the upstairs bedrooms. Three bedrooms have Queen beds and one bedroom has two twins. The Master bedroom has its own bathroom with jacuzzi tub. There is wifi, central air, washer and dryer and BBQ gas grill.
A bird-watcher's haven, (see more below), you can also fish in the bay and there is great surf-casting at nearby Smith Point. We have two kayaks for you to use.
Although Mastic Beach is close to the Hamptons, it is NOT the Hamptons and not a fancy town. But it has a great old school Italian restaurant, an amazing butcher and two great bait and tackle shops.
A short drive to Mastic seafood will get you the highest quality and largest selection of seafood around.
(We love mastic seafood)
But if you want to go out for dinner anywhere more upscale, you have to drive to Bellport, Patchogue, or East moriches.
Cute bayside towns 20 minutes away. There are a supermarket, liquor store, pizza place and so on.
We live a few streets away and are available to answer any questions you may have. The house is set up for enjoying the company of family and friends, relaxing, taking deep breaths, cooking and enjoying the views. It is not a party house and no parties or events are allowed.
BIRD WATCHING: If you enjoy bird watching you may see a Wallet, Common Yellowthroat, Song Sparrow, Barn Swallow, Tree Swallow, Red Winged Black Bird, Glossy Ibis, Osprey and more. Walk your paddle board or kayak down to the bay or head to the ocean.

Summary: Just stayed at The Osprey for a family reunion in the area. What a beautiful place. So many birds! Beautiful breezes, beautiful views and peaceful. Just what we needed to enjoy nature and each other. The owner, Kimbe, was wonderful. She made sure the house had everything we needed and plenty of extras too in case we forgot anything and was extremely accommodating to our needs. Thank you so much!!

Summary: The house is beautiful and the setting is amazing - the light shining through the reeds in the mornings and the evenings is gorgeous. It’s a really beautiful place to just hang out and it feels private and secluded. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen is well stocked. We stayed in November and house was warm and cozy. Kimbe met us at check in and is an amazing host. She was reachable by text and responded immediately to any inquiries we had. It’s a quick drive to the beach at Smith Point - we enjoyed a lot of walks along the beach. There are nice walks at the William Floyd Estate nearby as well. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Summary: Our family gathered here to celebrate a wedding on Long Island. This rental was perfect right down to the dining table for 10. Nice linens and kitchen supplies. Views are beautiful. Saw deer and heron on the march and the full moon rise. Lots of stairs for old folk like my husband and me. No nice beach within walking distance. But so comfortable with lots of outside deck space. Perfect for a fall or spring get-away. Thank you Kimbe for a very comfortable stay.

Summary: We had an amazing stay at Kimbe's place! It was quiet and roomy enough for all of us to comfortably relax and spend time together as friends. There is a beautiful neighborhood to explore if you want some outdoor activity. We did have an issue with the house but the host fixed very timely. Would stay again 🙂

Summary: We had a great stay at this property. The house was a well stocked with everything needed. The host was very helpful. We used the Kayaks provided to boat across the intercoastal. You can beach on the bay side and take a short walk across Fyre Island to the ocean side. Had the beach to ourselves for 1 Mile in each direction. This is the key feature of this property in my opinion but need to be willing to put the effort to get across. Wasn't too bad, about .7 mile paddle. I will say the biggest drawback about this house is the neighborhood just shortly past the house is a bit sketchy. Overall though we had a great week.
