At Clean Slate you will enjoy beautiful peaceful clear water and a fantastic view of Smith Lake from every room in the house. Clean Slate was built in 1975 and remodeled in 2012 to include natural slate throughout the house, all new appliances in the kitchen, and handmade unique furnishings. Relax in the den or simply step outside onto a patio that leads directly to a covered boat house 20 steps away. Located on a smooth deep quiet creek, it is a wake boarder, surfer, skier or fisherman's dream. There are four bedrooms, two have queen beds, one a full, and one has two twin beds. A living room upstairs can easily accommodate a blowup bed(not included). The kitchen/open living room combination has a table that seats six. Watercraft lovers will be pleased to know that Clear Creek boat ramp is only 3 miles away and Duncan Bridge Marina is 15 minutes by water. PLEASE NOTE Smith Lake water levels vary throughout the year; contact us for more information. The pictures where taken early in the year and the video was taken between late September and early October. We do NOT advertise that there is a beach!

Summary: If you are looking for a restful get away with the phone not ringing this is the place for you. At&t and cspire both have no service at this location, but for a group of over worked adults this was a major plus in our book. The cabin does come equip with a land line, for local calls, in case of an emergency. The number of the owners are also posted. We enjoyed a swim in the lake off the pier and even rented a boat and tube from a local it was a great experience. (Pro tip, the lake doesn't allow any open containers on boats so be aware of that) The cabin was very tidy and clean, the only complaint we would have on the cabin would be the beds. Now, I love a good DIY but the stability of the bed frames where lacking. They could use some attention; I also wish the mattresses were newer. Other than that one aspect everything was five stars across the board. Thank you for letting us enjoy your little slice of paradise.

Summary: The house is exactly as described! Beautiful part of the lake and we had peaceful mornings with coffee on the back porch. The boat ramp is so close and easy to use for your boat. Only negative is the mattresses need to be replaced. We had 6 adults & everything in the house functions well. We brought a Blackstone table top griddle where we made most of our meals outside. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Summary: We were fortunate to have booked the house at the last minute during Thanksgiving. We loved the location on the lake, the water, rock outcroppings, and foliage from the deck were amazing! The house just needs to be brightened up on the inside. The windows were very dirty, cobwebs inside and out, the deck had many layers of leaves so we couldn’t really enjoy it. Other than that this house could be a Gem!

Summary: The owner was very clear about what was and was not provided however. They also assured us that even though the house had no cell service that there was a phone for placing local and emergency calls but the phone did not work. The house needed some light bulbs replaced and there weren't any in the house to replace the ones that did not work. The boat dock could use some repair. Otherwise it was nice,

Summary: The view from the back deck is amazing! I sat each morning on the back porch watching the birds & squirrels play and the fish jump. The lake is wide, deep and very quiet. The bedrooms are big enough for a comfortable weeks stay. The kitchen is well stocked. IF you read all the instructions then you know to bring extra towels, tissue & garbage bags...we did and all is well. If you don't want to pack that stuff the dollar general is a few miles down the road. The circular drive is paved however, one side is a Straight Drop 10yards down to the house...my husband was comfortable parking the truck down there but my GT Mustang stayed at the top of the hill (my husband drove it down to the house to unload it but I never drove it back down there after leaving for stuff). We give this house a 4.8 out of 5 stars Clean, nice view, quiet, quick response, as stated, etc...
