Positive: Comfortable, stylish, boutique hotel. Receptionist/Manager Stephan was superb. He was helpful and warm & personable. We also appreciated drinks vouchers for some complimentary beverages, he also gave us invaluable advice for our sightseeing which really helped us experience the area, including walking equipment required, buses to catch, routes etc… he is an asset to the hotel.
Negative: The portions of the food were far too small. No blinds on our ground floor bedroom. Not enough entertainment, there should be a pianist in reception or music. And a little tuck shop where you can purchase things because it is so remote.
Summary: Quaint, stylish boutique hotel - walking distance to Catbells great for hiking.

Negative: Our room was hot as it was above the boiler room, but in winter that would be a bonus. Beautiful room, so comfortable.

Positive: Really well appointed. Quality furnishings and decor. The views are beautiful and generally a lovely place to be.
Negative: The bar draught taps didn’t work. Most of the staff were great. Some could have smiled a bit more.
