This beautiful home is located just one block (75 yards) away from the base of Breckenridge’s Peak 8 base area. You can drive to Main Street, or just hop on the free shuttle that just a stone’s throw away from the home. This home’s elegance is evident from your first step through the grand front entryway into the main living area. The soaring vaulted ceilings with exposed trusses and two-story moss rock gas fireplace are stunning. Large windows flood the area with natural light and capitalize on the forest and mountain views. Rich leather sofas and chairs around the room make for an elegant (yet cozy) gathering place. There’s a large flat-screen TV for watching a movie or catching the morning snow report. There’s also a study just off the living area with another large flat-screen TV and a gas fireplace.
Downstairs is the main entertainment area complete with wet bar, pool table, huge flat-screen Smart TV, sauna, and card table. There’s also a loft area upstairs with an additional large flat-screen TV. Outside is the very private porch area with seating and a grill for barbecuing, as well as a private hot tub for soaking in after a long day exploring the Rocky Mountains.
The spacious chef’s kitchen features a Viking six-burner stove, Sub-Zero refrigerator, double ovens, and a walk-in pantry. The expansive granite counters and sectional island provide plenty of space to prepare a culinary masterpiece and can seat 4. The formal dining room is just off the kitchen and can seat 10.
This home also boasts a two-car garage, full laundry area with washer and dryer, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the home. And like every Summit Mountain Rentals property, Boulder Ridge Retreat comes stocked with plenty of linens, towels and hotel-like toiletries, and is professionally cleaned and inspected before each arrival. Summary: We had a large group for ski/snowboard. House was in a great location and is very large and set up will for groups. The hot tub, living room area, kitchen area are all set up well and good for large groups. Had a few problems with the property that were brought up to the property management. Management seemed genuine/concerned and made the issues right ASAP. Overall, good experience and would rent here again.

One must climb a hill behind the hot tub (in which the snow was knee deep plus) then reach a road, walk down a road to some maintenance sheds, climb snow banks to reach a slope to ski down to peak eight. Again...deceptive and should not be advertised as such. I paid the $3,500 a night specifically for ski in/ski out. The positive was the location was under 5 minutes to the drop off area by car. Twice we had maintenance come in for heat and cold issues in the upstairs bedrooms. The television did not work in the master bedroom....Note: the kitchen sink faucet has been loose since arrival. Maintenance made aware of this and tightened.

Summary: The property was beautiful and spacious. Teens loved having the whole first floor to themselves. Adults loved the huge fireplace! The teens were able to ski in, but the adults and younger kids walked to and from base 8, which wasn't terrible. Kitchen was well stocked and management brought a new wine knife when the one in the unit was broken! Great house for a big group.

The base of Peak 8 is a easy 10 minute walk. I would not call the property luxury - furnishings are dated, linens & towels not luxurious - but that said it was a great ski house for a family with kids. We had a few maintenance issues which they tried to remedy. Ice maker did not work & they did not attempt to fix. When we arrived, snow had not been shoveled - they sent someone out to clear. We then had 20 + inches of snow & they did not come to clear again and we did not have a shovel which we requested to clear deck to get to hot tub. Overall a good house - just know it is not totally as advertised.
