Positive: Het zwembad, het eten in het restaurant en het natuurpark om de hoek zijn wat ons betreft de hoogtepunten. Daarnaast ziet het er super gaaf uit allemaal!
Negative: Helaas hadden wij kakkerlakken in de kamer. Na vermelding bleek dat ze in lange tijd niets aan bestrijding hadden gedaan. Dit moest “nog een keer gedaan worden”. Daarnaast was de service in het restaurant lang niet altijd goed. Dat verwacht je wel voor de hoofdprijs die je hier betaalt in het hotel en in het restaurant. Er waren momenten dat we niet eens werden aangekeken bij het tekenen van de rekening. De rekening werd alleen neergegooid en na een handtekening weer teruggepakt… Of dat het erg lang duurde voordat ze de bestelling op kwamen nemen of het eten liet lang op zich wachten. Zo lang dat we maar aangaven dat we het toetje niet meer hoefde.

Positive: Beautifully and lovingly restored former coffee plantation and grounds with all the modern amenities you’d expect. We stayed in the original plantation house. The extensive terrace alongside the former coffee warehouse is a lovely place to hangout and enjoy meals (though fans and river breezes will not always keep you cool). Comfortable beds and lovely shower, with a mosquito net for that extra romantic feel.
Negative: The last stretch of the road to the property is in a terrible state and very uncomfortable. The view across the Suriname River is blighted by the refinery right across the river from the property. Though all staff are friendly they don’t really seem in control or know what to do. Service the first day was very slow (both lunch and dinner), markedly better the following. Property umbrellas to get from one area of the property to the next without getting drenched during showers would be a nice touch.
Summary: A very confortable luxury resort not far from town or the sights of Commewijne District with good vibes.

Positive: Beautiful surroundings, very friendly staff.
Negative: You are quite isolated because of the bad road, so staying there doesn’t come cheap when you are having all your meals there as well.
