The Bower Retreat is a very comfortable fully self contained four bedroom cottage which sleeps eight. Cottage backs onto rain forest creek with view of Balck Bulga Range to the front.
Bower Retreat is just great for couples , families or groups who want to get away and enjoy some country life in a very beautiful and quiet spot.
Cottage stands alone by its self on property so there so guests have their privacy.
It is set on a 56 acre property which guests are free to explore. There are marked walking tracks along the creek and up and over the timbered hill.
Plenty of open and flat area as well for children to play and ride bikes.
The cottage now has an enclosed area at front suitable for containing small children making supervision of them a much easier task, whilst they enjoy the outdoors.
This fenced area is also suitable for containing small to medium sized dogs. Bower Retreat is a pet friendly establishment.
Activities
Bush walking, birdwatching (up to 90 species recorded on property, see for bird list), swimming in pool, table tennis, horse riding nearby, bike riding.
Walk the marked walking track along the rainforest creek, marvel at the ferns and mosses, then climb the timbered hill to a view of the property.

Summary: My 2 whippets really loved this little holiday. The hosts were lovely and the cottage was cute. I did expect us to be able to walk along the creek and into the mountains but they weren’t really very accessible. In saying that though I should have asked more questions. We had a lovely time away. Thank you

Summary: We found our experience to be relaxing. Our fur babies had plenty of room to run around. The owners had thought of everything that was needed for our stay and the cottage was clean and tidy.

Summary: it was very clean and airy and the host has everything inside you could ever need. while there we needed flyspray and bandaids both of which we thought wouldnt be there but they were. overall a beautiful place which we enjoyed especially the table tennis and mountain bikes there to use. lots of beds to choose from too.would go again.

Summary: A great stay in a lovely little cottage. Super easy self check in made it easy for us as we were travelling and arriving late. Very accommodating and welcoming host. Did think it was located in Stroud rather than Dungog based on the location before booking but this wasn’t too much of a difference for us. Pet friendly with a lovely big fenced front yard made it ideal for us. Would love to stay again and do some more exploring of the walls around the property and surrounding areas.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at Bower Cottage. It was clean, peaceful and perfect for our elderly dogs (with no steps). Owners had thoughtfully provided for all our needs. Particularly enjoyed the bower birds in the front garden.

Summary: We had a fantastic weekend away at Bowers Retreat, wish we could of stayed longer. Marion was a very kind and welcoming host. The kids had lots of fun exploring the area on their bikes. The house was in prestine condition, well equipped and spacious. Very private and peaceful location, would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to relax, unwind and de-stress.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away with friends and family. Kids explored, rode bikes and had such a fun time. Fire pit at night as beautiful and even spotted some fireflies. Perfect spot for exploring the mountains. Marion and her husband were the best hosts ensuring we had all that we need. Will definitely be back but will stay longer next time. So much to do and more places to explore next time.
