Negative: Double bed for some reason was not comfortable for two persons. Everything else was acceptable.

Summary: We found the area pleasant and easily accessible and we would go again.

Positive: The lobby is great for muddy boots and dogs. The cottage is more spacious than it looks on the photo. The decor isn't spotless but it was clean and tidy. The neighbouring pub is friendly and accommodating. The area is a good base for walking, with local footpaths, and a short drive to the North York Moors.

Negative: It's an old property and there is only one bathroom. A sink in the lobby area would have been useful. The beds were a bit soft for my liking.

Negative: There was no sun at all in garden, beautiful weekend that we really wanted to relax in garden but had to go elsewhere as garden was completely in shade.

Positive: The cottage was pretty comfortable. It was located very close to the pub. Good parking. It was very spacious. A great location to access local towns, visitor attractions and countryside.

Negative: I told the owner about these, but some of the lights didn’t work, and the bathroom window, although frosted, needed a blind to ensure privacy especially when the bathroom light is on.

Summary: A great cottage, in a rural location by the side of a really good pub and microbrewery.
